ianp
While carrying out the wiring on my N scale layout, I realised I was drawing entirely on the good advice of my local model shop (Jane's Trains in Tooting), some basic DIY skills, and the dregs of my O level physics studies at school about 40 years ago. I would like to revive whatever I once knew about the relationship between volts, amps, watts and ohms. And learn what they mean in a simple practical sense. So, are there any good beginners/idiots books on electricity? There isn't one in the Dummies series of books (though there is one on electronics). Nor is there a Ladybird book on the topic (don't laugh; apparently the one on computers is handed out by some universities to their first year university students studying computer science). All suggestions gratefully received.

RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted December 1, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 1, 2014 You haven't stated, but do you want a general book on electricity, or do you want one with a model railways slant? For example, how best to wire a model railway, track, signals, lighting etc.
ianp
Electrical wiring in general. I have books on model railway wiring. And, without wishing to offend anyone, I am not very interested in power stations, pylons and and the national grid.
