mozzer models Posted December 15, 2014 Share Posted December 15, 2014 At the Rainhill show last week i picked up a Worsley Works WW1 Dick Kerr petrol loco 4 mm scale the wheel base on the rael locos were 5'6'' which is 22mm in 4mm looking around for a chassis i can across from B-train that is 24mm which for me is close anought link to chassis http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351229521894?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT & here are photos of both sides of the etch 001 by Mozzer models, on Flickr 002 by Mozzer models, on Flickr I will be makig a start once the chassis arrives from Japan but I can pop out all thoughs rivits before if i get time I just need now is some axel gards & springs I know ther will be problems with the wheels & chassis compared to the real loco But this is for Dean (my 11 year old son)he is in to the 1st world war at the moment so this is to be a cheap build just to give him a WW1 loco to use on my new layout so far the loco has cost under £30 Satuarday saw the chassis arrive from japan So Friday night i had a Riviting Time poping out the rivets on the etch the tools i use are i hard steal pin in either a wood block or pin vice & a small hammer 001 by Mozzer models, on Flickr 005 by Mozzer models, on Flickr 002 by Mozzer models, on Flickr heres a riverting video & after 380 etch rivets hit twice 006 by Mozzer models, on Flickr Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
mozzer models Posted December 15, 2014 Author Share Posted December 15, 2014 Well Satuarday night i built up the body I still need to make the detail bits like the axle boxes etc I form the cerves around assorted rods to get the right shape 001 by Mozzer models, on Flickr here are the parts ready to solder togetter 002 by Mozzer models, on Flickr next i solded on handels to the bonit hatches 003 by Mozzer models, on Flickr I solded uo the parts in to 3 sub parts using 183 deg solder 004 by Mozzer models, on Flickr I then solded the 3 sub part togetter using 70 deg solded apart from the frames to the cab buffer beam wear i used 183 deg solded 005 by Mozzer models, on Flickr 006 by Mozzer models, on Flickr iI added a lip in the cab door to stop the chassis from sliding to far into the body 007 by Mozzer models, on Flickr 008 by Mozzer models, on Flickr Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

On the back of this, I've just ordered one of these Dick Kerr loco bodies, and the same chassis as yours, so a nice little Christmas hols project for me when it all arrives!
