Serious class 56 clag

Recommended Posts

It's a 56 - most likely a knackered cam shaft

Anyway, don't posts like this belong on wnxx in the school holidays?

On the contrary, Grimley has only used the one exclamation mark and has deemed use of the phrase “My Lords” in a honking geet font, uppercase natch, with a plethora of zeds to replace the 's' unnecessary.

As well he might on a forum such as this.

(flail, bellow, death, Ada. etc.)

Its probably been idling for ages on Carr loco depot, 56s are notorious for collecting oil in the silencers when left idling for long periods. When the loco is opened up after this the excess oil gets burned off. In worst cases this can result in an exhaust fire.

It sounds OK and as it passes the camera it seems to be clearing.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I had heard that Grids gave off a bit of clag after being left idling for a while but this just seemed on a different level!

Must have some sort of issue but like I said, I am not an engineer.

Don't worry C6T I am back to school on Monday!

Great find Welly, not too sure what is powering that loco!
