Some form of planking will be added the plasticard is just a template for plank sizes.

I have placed the hut at the front of the layout aswell i think it works quite well. Any comments and thoughts greatly received

Tonight i have been having a clear up in the loft i want to tidy some of the wiring up so i have removed the scenic board. While i had it out i thought i would get some pictures.

The 2 sidings that run down the backscene and the lines to the station and the yard

And the easy drop in area for the main board nice and easy no bolts or latches just drop in and go.

And finally this will be where the helix will go and connect back up with the lines at the back of the board the timber is cut for the helix just needs fitting now.

  • 1 month later...

Managed to grab five minutes to run up in the loft and get a couple of photos of some work carried out at the weekend. Graham popped over and while he was here we made a start on the helix but we have arranged one night in a couple weeks to hopefully get the rest done and maybe some track laid

Progress so far

Hi Graeme,

You are quite correct about the 3 way acting as the trap point, In all honesty i had it going spare and it gave a good spacing for the platform road so it got fitted. Think i need a better excuse.

cheers

Graham.

I would suggest the story as follows. The trap was originally for a single siding. The 3 way was a later addition. It would be expensive / inconvenient to alter the arrangement.

PROGRESS AT LAST

Had a boys night on wedensday with graham and dad

Work on continued on getting a full circuit in. Graham continued his great work as ever with the helix and dad and i fitted the incline in at the back of the board. It didnt take long for all the wood work to be done and track laying was started.

Graham and dad continued to get all te track work in after we had a short break as i had to deal with a slight repaint on a wall (thanks Graham)

They would look good but not quite in the the right region. I need to get more 16t mineral wagons really then i can recreate the southfleet coal workings in the 70s with a peak ;)

Now a peak with that EM2 speaker in would be right at home !

Thanks graham video looks good.

Day off today so managed to get up in the loft

and get a few jobs done.

The main job of the day was to get all the loco wheels cleaned and give each one agood run. Then attention turned to cleaning the 3 way point blades the larger engines crawl over but the 08 and sentinel are still stalling so i will have to add some hexfrog juicers, and maybe look into adding some stay alives.

Little bit greenery added this afternoon aswell
