Something for a Farish 08 chassis

Hi all

I have an urge to mess about with a small UK freelance OO-9 project but as a beginner I am a bit clueless.

I have two Farish 08's, one old style and one new style, that seem eminently suitable for a loco but I'm not sure where to even start looking for something that I can use it as a chassis for a loco.

Probably lean towards a small diesel but not totally adverse to steam, so I'd be grateful if someone could suggest a few places where I can pick up a fairly simple "paint and forget" type body.

Stock isn't so difficult but again if anyone has simple recommendations that'd be great.

Many thanks

'Nut

Chris Ward does the WD loco for the GF chassis.
Gem also makes a WD body to go on the 08 chassis
Also its worth a look on Parkside Dundas's website.
They have lots of body kits, you will just need to see what fits the 08

Tebee does 3d printed bodies through shapeways and sells them on ebay although I don't know if the 08 chassis fits any

Hiya

I can recommend the WD Baldwin by Chris Ward for the inside framed 08 (mainly because I'm the designer...), but if you want to see what the end product can be like, just take a look at what Brian has done with it here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/91412-wdlr-4-6-0-baldwin-from-cwrailways/&do=findComment&comment=1742693 which has been enhanced using the RT models valve gear.

Take a look at the different variations here http://www.cwrailways.com/baldwins.html and get in touch with Chris if any take your fancy.

Cheers

Mike
