Matador
Although I model 7mm 16.5 I have just been given an N Scale layout 8' x 4' roundy round that is fully working but has no Scenery or structures. I am looking at the possibility of maybe using it for a 009 layout. But because it has several bridges i was wondering what the normal height of say a 009 Loco and a Coach is when on the track. Spitfire2865
Its rather unnessesarily complex, isnt it? Was the original idea for a mountain?
brianusa
I thought a logging/mountain layout which are very popular over here. Looks like a well thought out track plan, sidings, spurs, possible connection to wherever and a 'roundy' for running. If you're good at scenery, should real nice. Brian. Another Brit in the USA. Matador
By trade I am a Pro Modeler and Custom painter, I received a call from a gal who asked if I could mend a Loco that was her Fathers who had passed away. When I went to the House she had an older Brass Boston and Maine 2-6-0 that was in pretty bad shape I said I would fix it and mount it on a wooden base at no cost, I like doing nice things for other people. She then said would I like to see her Fathers layout and of course what you see above is that layout that she gave me as a gift for fixing the Brass Loco, the only problem is the layout was run and operated with a Computer that she gave to her son who wiped out the hard drive. The wiring is so complex I,m not sure where to start but my son would like to use it and build a NG layout of his own, so therefore the question regarding the height of 009 Models arose it was built to run US N Gauge Models on. hayfield
David The plan for a rabbit warren 009 layout looks very interesting and well worth using even if you have to alter the height of the bridges. As for the wiring I would just remove and re-wire (keeping parts that could be reused in place) to a standard/system I could understand/work with
