We've just had the same problem on some mock-up buildings on the club layout, It seems that like you, poster paint seems to have affected and bowed the walls, much to our surprise.

I can only suggest trying to paint the other side of the boards to equalise the stresses involved, but if it  doesn't go back it will  need some more bracing.

Unusually a row of terraced houses built from foam-board and covered on one side only with plastic embossed sheeting has remained perfectly straight, but it was more rigidly braced, with supports at about 2" apart at the floor levels.

I suspect that the board won't straighten when you paint the other side unfortunately. From my experience with this type of board I have always needed to paint both sides at the same time to stop bowing. Because of this I wouldn't use it for base board construction.

Painted tother side, it straightened a little so

Cut it down middle to make triangular plank

Will now move on with scenery, hopefully a bit of weight in middle will counteract the small amount of warp remaining

Forgot to mention its N gauge
