drduncan
Chaps (and chapesses), I'm busy lining a 4mm scale dean goods using the HMRS pressfix transfers. However, the cab options on the sheet do not cover the complex curve around the cab cut out. Any suggestions on a way foward? drduncan
Graham Walters
This site may help, it has pictures of actual loco's and models in all liveries http://www.gwr.org.uk/liveriesloco1906.html
garethashenden
If you cut very close to the edge of the straight transfers they can be persuaded to form large radius curves. Use the corners and the tight curves from the pre-made cab sides and then use the plain lining to fill in any gaps. You'll have to cut up the pre-made cab lining to get the bits you need. That's what I did with the 850, it seems to have worked.
MikeOxon
If you have an ink-jet printer, you can make your own lining, as I describe in my blog at http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1405/entry-12913-home-made-lining-lettering-2/
garethashenden
I have a further question about the lining of my 850. How are the splashers lined? Is it just the big curve? Or the big curve and the small curve? Or every available edge? And while we're at it, is the bunker one rectangle wrapped around of three separate rectangles?
