St Neots show 14/15 March

However, the layout I spent the most time watching by quite a wide margin was St Merryn. An exercise in presenting the mundane, although that is not meant to denigrate what was an exceptional presentation. Not only was the modelling and research of the highest order but the way the layout was operated was highly realistic. For me that demonstrates a holistic approach to presenting a highly plausible scene and that is a nigh on perfect combination.

It seems, for many, that they were indeed 'Getting it all right" !

If I remember correctly, that is either Rushden Transport Museum based, with a recent professional restoration in Blackpool, or it is privately owned and stored on a farm alongside the A6 just north of Luton?

Just checked on the Rushden site, that one appears to be 651EBD, which may not yet be finished, so it looks like the A6 one. Nice to see this out and about again, I remember this bus from its intro to service.

Just in case anyone is interested, I had the opportunity to take some videos of the Mid Essex MRC layout Blackwells Brewery Company at the exhibition, and two of the videos I shot are shown here. Needless to say, the locos are mine - no nepotism here! :-)
