sub39h
Hi guys, I was wondering if there were any RTR or kit versions of any of the Cargowaggon twin wagons? I'd like to add some to my fleet but aside from a member doing a 3D print of a 7mm one I can't find much information at all. I'd also be interested in the Cargowaggon linked below: https://farkham4mm.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/cargo.jpg Thanks, S.
Marcyg
The only R-T-R model of the twins is the HO version by Roco, and they seem to command silly money. I don't understand why manufacturers havn't produced more of the Cargowaggon types as they're quite a bit part of the rail network
cheesysmith
IIRC there was a article in model rail a few years ago where someone scratch build one of these.
sub39h
Thanks to you both - cheesysmith I don't suppose you remember which article it is? I defo think that Cargowaggon variants are a something which the manufacturers should work more on.
jonas
The Heljan version is difficult to find in silver with blue / yellow lettering too. I'm looking for one at the moment.

I've been a bit lucky - I've found a few of these lately at reasonable prices hence why I was interested in other types to bolster my rake. (All of those suppliers are sold out now otherwise I'd forward their details.) For the moment I'm just going to run them with Bachmann VGAs.
cheesysmith
The IZA artical was in the march 2006 modelrail, and there is a scale drawing for download is on the p4 new street site.
sub39h
Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. I happen to have come across this photo on Nigel Burkin's blog when looking for pictures of the different liveries of ViTrains Class 47 - the photos of the 47 on here seem to be pulling some CargoWaggon twins. Are these IZAs? The livery seems different to the IZAs on Google Images. https://nigelburkin.wordpress.com/2011/10/ I started trying to go back through his blog to see if he'd got any info about them but I gave up after 12 months. If anyone happens to have any info it would be most appreciated!

Two are similar to that image in the article by Nigel Burkin, with a central ridge along the roof; they differ in overall length. The third type is actually more of a covered flat than a van, as one half of the body (apart from the ends), lifts and slides over the other. They resemble the other type of 'covered flat' that you linked to. There was a GE Capital web-site that showed the different types, but it seems to have gone walkabout.. Here are some links to photos of the different types:- http://ukrailwaypics.smugmug.com/UKRailRollingstock/I/IZA-Twin-cargowaggons/i-VjPzdMk/A http://ukrailwaypics.smugmug.com/UKRailRollingstock/I/IZA-Twin-cargowaggons/i-shjCFXT/A The two types seem to work together on flows such as mineral water to Daventry; they seem to have entirely supplanted the earlier bogie wagons.
