mjcbasingstoke
Having just purchased an old Lima Class 117 DMU I am having difficulty in removing the body from the power car and the centre car. Obviously just removing the screws is not enough!! Would be appreciated if someone could let me know how to get these bodies off.
k9-70
I've never owned one of these models, so the suggestion below is only a guess. Did you try removing the buffers from both ends of the coach ? K9-
Guest
The buffers don't secure anything on this model. As well as the screws there are two clips on each side and one at each end. IIRC it's best to start popping them at the corridor end.
Guest 30-something
Been a while since I had one of these but I remember having to remove the screws and give the underframe a good tug from the centre of it, I believe there were 2 lugs, one at either end. Hope this helps
Il Grifone
Use a screwdriver or, better still, a wooden tool (made from one ot those otherwise useless coffee stirrers) to ease the lugs from the body. Brute force will probably cause breakage. Since these are now collector's items, care is needed! The same applies to Lima coaches, where the glazing clips into the sides to hold the roof on. westerner
Undo the two screws and ease the lugs away from either end of the body.
