cravensdmufan
Hi, Could someone kindly assist me by identifying this small item? It is a stiff plastic card measuring slightly larger than a credit card (62mmx 87mm). Would be interested to know what it was used for. I bought it off eBay for just £1.99 as I liked the look of it - especially the logo! (There is another on sale at the moment - sorry cannot seem to copy/paste link). Thanks in advance! carlw
Is this a identification number for stock going through the works. Bit like a job card?
Fat Controller
Car parking permit? Token for the locker room? In many large establishments, you would change from 'street clothes' into work-gear at the start of the day, and your kit would be stored in a locker, or on a numbered hanger in a changing room, until finishing time. Catkins
I don't think it is a job card for loco's undergoing works attention - all the identity tags I saw were chalk boards with the loco number chalked into marked boxes, with the loco carrying a sheet of (A4/A3) paper in a bag strapped to part of the structure listing the loco and work required. Is there anything on the back? It might be a number tag to go on a locker door, it could be a clocking in card for a member of staff, it could even be a visitors permit for external contractors - i.e. Bodgit and Leggit, Painters & Decorators -or engineers from GEC.
