piranha230
I am looking at re-spraying a Hornby 4-vep into Southwest trains livery, does anyone know if the p232 Southwest trains (Stagecoach) blue, Phoenix precision is the correct shade for the vep?, as it looks too dark and I think its the one people paint the class 350 into Southwest trains livery, when they are doing a class 450 conversion. 86902
That's what I used for a 450 repaint buddy, looked ok to me Cheers Bob
piranha230
The blue on the 4-vep looks much lighter than the blue on the class 450.
86902
Got you, it looks more like NSE blue that
cromptonnut
From Wikipedia "SWT quickly repainted its fleet of units into a new livery, based on the previous Network SouthEast (NSE) livery, but with the addition of an orange stripe and the absence of the grey band. All but four units (3415 and 3809-3811) were repainted. These four units were deliberately retained in NSE livery, meaning that in the final days of slam-door trains they attained "celebrity" status among rail enthusiasts." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_423
RMweb Premium njee20 Posted May 10, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 10, 2015 Early NSE blue maybe, definitely not later blue.
stevegr
The Phoenix SWT or actually Stagecoach blue seems to be the darker one of the two used by Stagecoach. The lighter one is used here for a SWT slam door. They are the same paints as used on Stagecoach buses, these often have both blues used in the livery.
