I'll be your number one

Number one end, that is!

A couple of views of the No 1 end cab, with virtually all of the detailing parts added.

Matt - as you see, I've added the wire to the phone handset - couldn't make the wire itself curly though, I couldn't find the unfeasibly small wire, so had to use some slightly thicker stuff. I've twisted as best I can so that it looks the part though :D

The radio unit has turned out a tad oversize, and that coupled with the fact that the AWS indicator is also oversize makes it stick up a bit further than it should. On the plus side though, this means that you can see it's there through the windscreen :D

These photos also show the strip that has been added to the cab doors to give some relief, and some of the other detailing parts that I've added to the cab, including the brake indicator and switches above the drivers door.

The cab lights are yet to be added, as are the wiper motors that I haven't made yet. Due to their position, I decided it would be best to fix these in place once the nose bulkhead was secured in position. I'm currently trying to decide whether or not to make representations of the cab sun-shields and attach them - they'll be visible through the cab windows, after all.

That cab floor is way too clean! :D

I think 7mm scale curly telephone wire would be an excellent suggestion for Eileen's Emporium's Extreme Product competition!

Looks great... have you thought yet about getting yourself some S7 axles, and sending the wheels off for re-profiling ?

On another note, it looks like you have been able to 'push' everything from your blog into a normal forum page... would you be able to enlighten me on how you did it?? I wouldn't mind transferring everything from my Blog onto a normal forum page if it's possible in one foul swoop.. ??

Looking great Pugsley,

Definitely have a go at the sun- shields I have been planning on having a go at doing it on a 4mm loco, as you say they are quite visible.

Did you use 4mm numbers for the 37415 TI just above the door?

Cheers Peter,

Incredible modelling Martin. Yes you can tell it's a model but what a detailed and accurate model - I love the attention to detail and what makes it for me is the weathering (scuff marks, grease, oily marks, discolouration through age, tatty stickers). Absolutely superb - if this is the interior I can't wait to see how you get on with the body and underframe! :)

Thanks everyone, you're too kind B) :icon_redface: :icon_redface: :icon_redface:

JB - S7 axles? I must admit, I hadn't thought of that, but I guess they're longer? Got a form to join the S7 society at Bristol, must complete it and get it sent off. I was going to buy a form tool and reprofile my own wheels - bought some wagon wheels to practice on at the weekend.

The thread is just updated manually with some of the information, as I know that a lot of people don't look at the blogs, but might want to see this. I don't think there's an automatic way.

Peter - You're right, they're so visible that, given the other stuff I've done so far, It'd be a bit daft not to - another thing added to the list! I made the transfers myself for the 37415 TI, by measuring the ledge they needed to sit on, and then reducing the text to the right size in CorelDraw.
