Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Early morning fog, and a huge train of MoW equipment headed west.... I missed the power.
pH
There's a UP coal train just gone through, with a random mixture of black and aluminum gons - it looked like a rolling piano keyboard.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
The crossing needs packing again, I've just watched an eastbound UP manifest and the hi cubes must have been swaying two or three feet past the vertical. I was ready to watch one topple over.

I was ready to watch one topple over. Agree. Empty covered hoppers are almost as bad. UP eastbounds on the right-hand track seem most affected. pH
That's the smallest train I've seen on that webcam - two GP15s, 3 mechanical reefers and a covered hopper - the end.

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted October 17, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 17, 2016 It was down yesterday. One of the Trains chat groups also mentioned this so I stopped checking my PC fore updates!
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
It's working fine right now... I haven't been looking much lately, too busy and lost a bit of interest in US railroading owing to the endless tractor parade

Dr Gerbil-Fritters
It's a touch atmospheric at the crossings this morning .... I've been watching on and off for the past 24 hours, and no-one seems to be using horns for the road crossings. I wonder why.
Glorious NSE
Believe Rochelle is now a quiet zone.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Traffic was moving slowly over the crossings during the night, and the maintenance battle continues. The new quiet zone means trains sneak up on the webcam, but it must be a relief to the locals. Air horns are really loud. The presence of MoW workers over rides the QZ though, and this empty autoracks was sounding the mandatory continuous two short parps all the way through the MoW area. Only one locomotive, despite being a huge train... Edited November 3, 2016 by Dr Gerbil-Fritters
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted November 3, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 3, 2016 I had around a week where I could not watch the webcam. Turns out it decided it no longer likes my Mac mini using safari. I now have Firefox installed on it and the webcam now runs fine.

Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Haven't seen a spartan cab in a while. Can't tell if it's an ex-MoPac SD50 or ex-CNW SD60...

Dr Gerbil-Fritters
and a spot of work on the BNSF lines... do UP and BSNF share and coordinate MoW on crossings like this? I assume that work carried out on one line affects the other

Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Quite a lot of MoW this morning, including some welders at work ion the crossing. In the meantime, everyone clears up for double double stacks... The eastbound was motoring, the westbound creeping along possibly heading into Global III A few minutes later, work stopped for an eastbound UPS Z train Edited November 4, 2016 by Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
An interesting loco this morning, possibly a GP40-2 with a cold weather cab window. Unfortunately the camera resolution is too poor for a number check
