Very much looking forward to exhibiting at this with The Mill, i'm a big fan of these smaller more intimate events.

Anybody who hasn't been to any of the skills days or to any of the other society groups smaller get togethers I would highly recommend them. We're all looking to gain a little bit of extra modelling know how, an alternative way of doing things or to get our heads round a technique you've only read about. With a list of demos like that to talk to & discus ideas it's worth the journey & entrance fee alone.

It'd be great to see a good turn out from the societies northernly membership (its free for you) & plenty of non society members.

Cheers

Chris

A very good point there Chris; there's nothing in the list of demos that is exclusively EM/P4 and it's a great opportunity for anyone interested in finescale modelling regardless of what gauge or scale they use to learn something new.

Evening...

The Mill is all loaded in the car ready for setting off in the morning, an additional half a dozen new wagons fitted with AJs & the locos tested.

Very much looking forward to spending the day playing trains & catching up with folk.

See you all in the morning.

Cheers

Chris

Accompanied by two shady characters I spent most of yesterday at Littleborough. Started the day well by having half an hour of playing trains before hot tailing it off to Lancashire.

What a cracking event. Got there about 11:30 to find the venue absolutely chock a block (but not uncomfortably so) and not a spare seat at any of the demo's. Plenty of space around and about the Coach House for my chauffeur to park the Bentley (free) and loads of stuff to inspire regardless of scale, gauge or mindset. Super choice of venue, with a second hand book shop with a large railway section within two minutes walk and a smashing pub with soft seats, newspapers, coal fire & good ale (those that know about such things told me so) less than three minutes away.

Didn't manage any phots of the event but did manage some pix of some bricks and some stones that were less than four minutes walk from the event. There were also some quite nice voussoirs & spandrels (penned by Geordie Stiv) to pass though on the way back from the pub.

Some nice voussoirs & spandrels  (with a strange man loitering in Littleboroughs red light district) yesterday. What was the purpose of the wrought Ironwork?

The day was topped off with a detour to the ELR  (Less than 20 minutes drive) to take some snaps of a stove in a stove and catch some LMS type kettles partaking in some double heading. Then it was half an hour sat under the Bury station platform canopies sipping a half of triple chocolate stout, (Titanic Brewery). That went down well. Well it would with steam locos doing their final bit of shunting for the day within touching distance.

A bit of Lancashire double edding that may av tekkin place yesterday.

All in all, a grand day out and a credit to the organizers. When's the next one?
