Apparently one of the O gauge layouts in the list above has been withdrawn but two O gauge replacements, Gas Works and St Martin's Wharf, are being provided by the Yeovil Model Railway Group.

We are very grateful to the Yeovil group for helping out at short notice.

Only 6 days to go until we open the doors to Rail Ex Taunton 2018. There have been some minor last minute changes due to the withdrawal of the O gauge layout Norwich Central. We have managed to source two other O gauge layouts as replacements - St Martin's Wharf and Gas Works (both pictured). We also have the EM Gauge Society in attendance to complement the superb EM gauge layout Tiverton.

The final line up will be 27 layouts, 24 trade stands (new trade stands in 2018 are C&L Finescale, 247 Developments 2016, Modelu and Just in Case), 3 society stands and 2 demonstrations spread over three exhibition spaces.

We hope the line up will appeal to the public. If you have visited before you might remember that Saturday morning/early afternoon can be extremely busy whereas the Sunday is a little quieter with the added bonus of a Sunday roast dinner with a choice of three meats!

Soon be heading off to start marking out the exhibition halls. One final change to the line up this week. Unfortunately the trade stand by Modelu withdrew on Monday. If you had booked a scan you should have already been contacted.

Failing last minute disasters we should have an excellent weekend with some quality exhibits.

Please remember there are roadworks at Cross Keys roundabout which can hold you up for as much as 15 minuets so if coming of M5 junction 26 allow extra time.

The lights were off and turned aside this evening. Not sure wether they will be working on SAT am may not be as its the start of the school half term. Mind you if coming off Jcn 26 it may be better to aviod going up to the silk mills and instead go on towards the town and go over the river there and come up staplegrove road from the town, missing the Cross Keys roundabout area.

This was a brilliant show - good range of scales and styles - too much to see!  Had to skip round a few stands in the large hall towards the end of today.  Well done chaps, it just gets better!

One comment: the huge Midlands layout with 8+ operators was very, very impressive, but whenever I passed it, there was nothing moving!  Huh?

A few snaps where I could actually find a gap in the crowd...

What a fantastic show , not one bad layout,.....one or two operators not realising the viewing public want to see trains running... Dorehill St Stevens for one ....we counted nearly 8 operators and not a train running for long periods. this was the second time we have seen this layout before and the same situation happened , almost too big to control ..a real shame...all the same a very enjoyable show.

Visited this morning and I totally agree with the comments above, a really excellent show. Always good to see Sidmouth and I expect I will spend quite a bit of time looking at it again at Warley. Its a bit of a drive for me but well worth it and I have already noted the dates for next year  - 26th and 27th October 2019. Congratulations to the team who put it on and to the site staff at the School for their welcome too.

all the best
