Jaz
Brass0four I agree I think they bent them to fit into the packaging. They would not be used as a fore ground pice of scenic product but might be handy set back. FYI I think the lights look very similar to those on Oak Common (of course they are dummies so don't give light), and neither do the bollards. http://en.wikipedia.org I probably would have not bought this pack if i knew what it actually was. As Kal prefers me to only source working lights etc. But as I have them, I intend to use them. For some reason they made me think of the Beetle and Abbey Road, wrong kit, of course. Still it's another reference that I will keep at the back of my mind. Edited February 17, 2014 by Jaz
Jaz
Trees... Just bought today, from local Florist, it is called,.....Semtex,..Stemtex, very thin florists tape, for doing, buttonhole flowers. See pics below.... .for tightly wrapping around the cables, once twisted. Shall be interested to see how it works.
David Todd
Semtex, I found this to be an excellent, toilet cleaner though...........
Jaz
The products are fairly tidy, but with the use of a small file. I removed any excess metal, and re-inforced the shape of the individual stone, where you see the shiny metal you are seeing where I filed. This should be done with a small file (wives nail file would work) Be very CAREFUL to not remove any of the detailing, better a slightly rough item than lose invaluable details. rmweb728knightwing2 On my pack the holes needed filing out carefully too, do not over enlarge the hole other wise the other parts of the kits e.g. bollards will not sit in tight. Checking one against the other is probably the safest way to get this right. rmweb729knoightwing3

Jaz
The planter (well I hope that is what they are) are a bit rough and ready, the metal obviously failed to get properly into the mild OR if someone has already tidied these they went a bit far. Regardless, I will be popping green fluff over the edges and hide this. rmweb731knightwing4 the pavements the planters rmweb732knightwing5 the pavements, the planters, the bollards rmweb732knightwing6 The bollard have some fine (be rely visible) detail so be careful.....

Jaz
The two lamps on the left (i.e. curved) is how the the lamps cmd, the one on the right is one I straightened, I warmed it up in my hands, but I have heard warm water is a good way. I also hold the lamp carefully whilst filing it so as to not damage the main stem. So these are the bits I removed from my pack. rmweb733kinghtwing7

Jaz
Sometimes ideas just don't pan out.....as you would like them...... Take one brand new model..... rmweb745car11 use the new artists masking.... rmweb744car10 It is white and goes clear....very hard to work out where you have actually put it. (HumbrolMaskol being bright purple certainly has an advantage here.) Hand paint..... rmweb742cars8 And remove the mask..... rmweb741car7 About now I'm thinking....would have been better free hand. Still there is more than one way to skin a cat.....here kitty kitty.......
David Todd
Still there is more than one way to skin a cat.....here kitty kitty....... Well timed Jaz, me,having just returned from catching/re-homing Lizzie's last cat,had to get it out of a tree it had ran up........ naughty cat.... Jaz
Easiest way to get cat from tree? And slow it down? Water hose....cat hates water leaves tree...then has to stop to shake off water.....one nabbed cat.......
Jaz
The other side..... free hand...much better just about to change to the smallest paint 'brush' rmweb739car5 Back to the ugly side........... After scraping some of the masking stuff off.....a quick freehand repaint commences The back end rmweb740car6 The front end rmweb738car4 At present there is two distinct sides. The freehand which is not too bad, and the masked one that was hopeless. (The next time I'll try Maskol - the purple being easier to see what you are getting.)
Jaz
Slowly I am getting back to a model that should not just be thrown in the bin. I admit I got in a bit of a panic, and should have let the paint dry, then added some Humbrol Maskol to the windows, But I carried on free hand , and got some on the windows, which I then had to T-cut. Next I must plan ahead....let each job dry even though it is much slower. It has been left to dry overbite....but this is where I was last night..... The front looks worse than it is, I tidied this up successfully with T cut and some very fine cotton buds. rmweb749car12 To date the back is the most successful rmweb737car3 The back end I have overpainted the car colour with the wood colour. I still need to check for any more masking fluid. rmweb736car2 This side where I put no masking is much cleaner. rmweb735car1 When I get a chance today to sit down and spend some undisturbed time on it... I will continue the rescue job. Lesson learn, plan carefully.....don't wing it.....until the next time
