jburgt
I love the 'old fashioned' English steam era, especially the Southern Railways from 1945 -1960. Regarding to this, I started with my project 'Wateringbury Railway station / Beltring & Branbridges Halt'. Two spots along the Medway Valley Line between Strood and Paddock Wood. Last summer I visited this nice region in Kent. And from then on, I am constructing an realistic prototypical OO-layout. Due to my living in the Netherlands it's not always as easy to get the right information about my project prototype and the particular details of both places, the villages and environment around. Although I found already a lot of stuff on the internet, it would be nice to cooperate with a local railroad modeller. My question at the moment is to get detailed pictures of the Bridge over the River Medway (near Beltring). See for an image I found already: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/Railway_Bridge_over_the_River_Medway_%282%29_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1159042.jpg To develop a realistic model and/or to build it with a lasercutter (2D) or with a 3D printer, I have to draw the measurements of my subject in Autocad. The vague photo is not good enough. I need more details from different sides. Please send me a PM with your e-mail adress when you can help me. eastwestdivide
For photos, you might find some photos taken by walkers on the "Medway Valley Walk" signposted walking route. More photos at: http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=54964546 This PDF from the Environment Agency names it as "East Peckham Rail Bridge" : https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/289783/LIT_8491_942687.pdf and shows the dimensions for span and clearance. I have to say though, there are prettier-looking bridges along that part of the Medway! Succes! PS I don't live there any more, but I grew up in the Medway Towns Edited for link. jburgt
@eastwestdivide, Thanks! The first link I already saw. It gives me a good impression of the environment of the entire bridge. The second link seems incorrect. Moreover, I need detailed pictures of the bridge itself. Is there a modelrailroad club in the region Miadstone, Wateringbury and or Beltring? eastwestdivide
I've fixed that link. There were some odd characters after "pdf". Apologies Also, I think the member called "50042" on this forum is in the Maidstone area. Might be worth a PM.
