  1. Cheers Jim. I wondered why there were no trains through Ludlow this morning when I went into town. Looks as if things might be on the move again. RTT shows 1W18 running - late, and with two 153s from Hereford as the first Northbound, and 1V42 the loco hauled set as the first Southbound - apparently on time so far.
  2. Beacause they never are - we had five like that - also a box marked car which was full of single malt whiskies, some rare - which was clearly marked CAR in large red letters, and when we loaded the car, couldn't find it - it was not in the house, so must have been (and was) in one of the vans - after three days we found it in the garage!!!!

  7. Afternoon All, Skipping again has happened - went to the antique fair at Ludlow racecourse - saw lots of acquaintances, and bought nothing - but it is a two day event and we've seen a few things that are possibles, so will visit tomorrow - if they're still there, it's meant to be. Then went out for our 1.47 appointments for an injection in each arm - I got the covid one in my left and flu in the right - so I will know tonight which is which when they hurt. It as really manic there - car park at the surgery was heaving what with tourists and the continuous influx of patients going four at a time at two minute intervals for their jabs. We had to park on a double yellow on the road leading into the car park and just by the entrance to the surgery - inside we split into two queues, gave our name and appointment time (we got there about forty minutes early - no problem, just go through. There were TEN nurses and HCAs administering the injections - we saw my DSN, with jackets off and sleeves rolled up, she welcomed us by name, did the business, then out the back door. Total time elapsed less than four minutes - then back home - in fact total time from out of house to in was uder quarter of an hour. Well done to all concerned - slick operation - but I remember when I had my first covid they made us wait - injection in a private room, then a 20 minute timed sit - with late running and a lack of staff, a good 40 minutes. Regards to All Stewart

  9. That's a funny 66 leading @big jim - but as you say, these locos do get around these days - they don't hang around.
  10. Afternoon All Great to have Debs popping in - good to hear from you. Barry - get well soon. Skipping has happened mainly due to lack of time and absence of mojo. It's been chuckinitdarn here for a couple of days now - but that hasn't stopped us from taking Lily to Church Stretton today - the wet dog smell in the car was amazingly strong. Not a lot more to say. Regards to All Stewart
  11. Never seen the station from that angle, as I have yet to travel from Ludlow to Shrewsbury by rail, but I plan to take the TFW loco hauled sometime soon just for the hell of it.

  15. You ought to complain about that to the health authority - the government has brought the Covid and flu jabs programme forward to try to stem off a new variant - I saw a queue outside the surgery at Craven Arms this morning, and ours are booked for next Saturday afternoon, and one of my neighbours who is immunocompromised had hers at the surgery last week. Afternoon All Been AWOL most of the week - sorry - must report to the head's office for six of the best. However, been quite busy with various jobs, trips away and so on. Two trips to Shrewsbury last week - one to get a bank statement, which proved not possible as their machine was out of order - I kicked off as I'd driven over 25 miles to get to a branch, and they eventually relented, and printed one at the counter - I've a feeling that it won't be long before my bank statement has Nationwide at the top. Then as we were in town, visited the antique centre, where 30747 saw a lamp that she really liked, and I talked her out of it - FOOL - and she rang them and asked them to keep it for a couple of days - so another trip to pick it up a few days later - I'll never learn. But I thought I'd share this with music lovers - Karen Carpenter would be pleased. Regards to All Stewart

  17. So where do you stay overnight Shrewsbury or Bromsgrove? Im guessing that you don't brave the A49 from Crewe every time! Yes, I do recall that now
  18. That was today, we had another of our close encounters yesterday - that's five of them so far!!!
  19. Strange thing is that I was underneath Shrewsbury station at the time that you arrived, Jim. I was in the Park and Ride bus heading back to the out of town car park as you arrived - according to RTT which I had open on my phone at the time. We've got to stop not quite meeting like this when you're round here!!!! And hey, that was some late arrival today - about 50 down all the way.
