It's more that the Pannier is the only one of my 0 gauge locos that I've not horribly devalued by painting yellow!

I do actually have a modern (ish) car at the moment, I can confirm that it's both expensive and dull and I'm looking to replace it with another heap of a van in the near future (well, probably spring actually).

I have the itch to go back outdoors- I may look at getting a 5" loco to replace BT&S at some point in the future. I will attempt to find one modelled on a Yorkshire manufactured prototype...  

No, the Triumph 2500PI estate that turned out to be a complete wreck, that I spent all summer getting to a halfway driveable state but still needs all the bodywork doing!

Which is rather telling really. The layout has barely been touched in the past year and a half, other than a couple of operating sessions at home. I've inadvertently saddled myself with another classic car project + ended up on the committee of a car club, the steam roller is still rather time consuming (although that too I have sadly neglected this past year, fortunately some of the other members of the crew have been rather more proactive and the unplanned "top end" rebuild is going well!) and along with a couple of other things in the pipeline means I'm considering rehoming BT&S.

By no means a certainty, it's not doing any harm where it is, but I can't help but feel it would be better with someone with the time to enjoy it and ideally take it on the road more than I have been able to. If anyone would be interested let me know. If I were to sell it I'd like the 4 BT&S locos + a significant quantity of the stock to go with it plus of course the control systems etc., although I'd want to keep a few of the non- BT&S specific wagons to go with my pannier tank.

Until they extended (or more accurately unshortened!) the platforms in the last year or so, Stonehouse was regularly served by the 2 carriages of an HST set that would fit in the platform.

Catching up on this thread I realised that I'd snapped Great Central's Montego at the Roadkill @EBC brakes event last November. We were supposed to be going in the Dolomite but it decided to throw all the fluid out of the brake master cylinder a couple of days previous, unhelpfully. Owner of said Dolomite promptly went into a grump and refused to go, so I had a cold solo run up in the dashboardless, heaterless Lada (I was in the process of replacing the seized (off!) heater tap at the time). Another friend managed to roll his Moggy Minor onto it's side on his way in, within half a mile of the venue! Not a very successful day for the Gloucestershire representatives but it was a good show otherwise!

Can confirm that Clubman is Tundra, same colour as my Marina estate was. Somewhat dulled by neglect, I was forever being asked if it had a military history...

It was a serious contender for my estate but we went with Black Tulip in the end, I thought it might be a bit much. Another friend has an estate in Aconite that I took up to the NEC last year, it's quite a bit brighter.

Speaking of which, does anyone remember the fashion for stuffing Vauxhall 2-litre engines into Vauxhall Novas? There was quite a lively industry turning these out for a while, and I imagine the insurance quotes on those must have been similarly crippling.

I well remember pulling into the overtaking lane coming up to a set of red lights alongside a boy racer'd Nova, the lights changed while we were both still rolling and he got ahead of me and stayed there. Considering I was in a 4.0 Jag XJ40 this was most embarrassing. Unfortunately we never had a repeat with in my friend's car- he had a XJR at the time, 4 litre supercharged V8 and just shy of 400bhp, there weren't many boyracermobiles that would upset that.

Traffic light GPs ignored the XJ40 was a lovely car though, especially for the £950 it cost me.

From the back of a Marina estate, overtaking a Marina TC (not a common occurrence, Pablo the Lada is a 1300, the TC is now just shy of 2 litres, and has 7" minilites and fettled suspension so it almost handles too).

I found a 4mm drawing of Hawarden and sat one on top of it- from memory the wheelbase and wheel diameter are near enough for a bash and the tank is almost spot on- I did start hacking one about but got distracted by BT&S...

The Bachmann US "twins" are really quite close dimensionally (cab ignored) to Hawarden- much too big for a 4mm Alfred or Judy but definite industrial bashing potential nonetheless.

Looks good to me for a "quick and easy", they've got that "chewed" look that wood gets when it's had heavy things dumped on/ dragged over it.

As for Berkeleys, some complete and utter loon took one to Mongolia last year on the Mongol charity rally- was fitted with a 400cc superdream engine if I remember rightly but still an utterly daft choice for overland adventuring. It made it, albeit the last few hundred miles strapped to the roof of a Lada!

And to think that I considered cramming r/c into 16mm/ft steam locos a bit of a fiddle!

Don't panic, I've got a few days off work coming up so I'll be making sure they are at least rehosted elsewhere even if I don't get around to replacing them before the PB police catch on   

Pretty certain I don't, which is the odd thing- I've never paid them a penny. I know I couldn't host directly to RMWeb and had to edit the image links for them to display so maybe that's it. I post on several vehicle related forums and I know my images on those are no longer visible.

I've no idea how as all of mine are definitely hosted on Photobucket and my photos on other forums have vanished into the unknown! Keep quiet eh...

No changes- the usual summer excuse of steam rollers and old lorries, but with the added distraction of a motorbike- but the layout is up and being played with. The concrete apron just needs sticking back down and some patch repairs, it's broken so neatly that the cracks are barely visible and don't look unrealistic.

Cheers CME, damage is pretty mild, got off lightly considering it was viciously attacked by a potentially lethal combination of a boxed pair of Lionheart suburbans and gravity! It's no bother, these things happen when you go on the road with stuff (especially things that weren't supposed to travel!). The bridge will be rebuilt as it was, or near enough, but I might redo some of the concrete apron to be in a different media.That said I kept the bits so I ight just glue them back down and grow some grass and weeds in the cracks! The damage to the concrete was caused by me being impatient while loading the car, nothing to do with dive bombing B- sets.

As for future outings, nothing set in stone yet but spoke to a few interested parties at Hardwicke so there are a few possibilities, mostly next year. I will of course keep folks posted through this here thread
