  1. Sorry Ramrig, can't help, but so you know what you're missing out on, it shows one of the locos in the process of being scrapped, all the upper superstructure has gone, hence you can see the boiler etc clearly
  2. Just come across this photo on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=963971517111730&set=pcb.2010847905797945&type=3&theater Hope the link works Cheers, Mike C
  3. But if you want to run a rake of Cemflos, make sure that your model of DP2 isn't on the layout at the same time, 'cause it could get very messy
  4. So by the fact that the running number of the BR liveried 'Bulleid' cattle wagons start with a 'B', does it means that they were built after '48?
  5. One other question if I may, so the tender behind the Airfix / Mailine / Hornby Dean Goods is the longer 3000 gallon version? Anyone any comments on how good / bad it is? (Already acknowledging that it really needs a replacement frame & wheels) Is the superstructure pretty accurate? If I go for a second DG, it would be nice to have one with a different tender (assuming that I can pick up a second hand one at a good price) ( Apologies for taking the Oxford thread off track )
  6. So just to recap if I may, am I right in thinking that the tender as supplied with the Oxford loco is a 2500 gallon Dean tender? Am I also right in thinking that there were two lengths of Dean tender & that this one is the 'short' variety? Cheers, Mike C
  7. I thought the LMS twins were equipment with multiple working. If you have a look at this photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/31514768@N05/3948696193/in/pool-1680866@N24/ you should just be able to pick out the jumper sockets either side of the coupling As to the Bulleid twins, thought they gained multiple when they went over to the LMR. If you look at this pic http://www.davidheyscollection.com/userimages/0001-k-long-flickr-10201.jpg you can see two hinged panels either side of the gangway, I assume that these are hiding the mu connectors
  8. I take your point BG John, but I am relatively lucky in that I model (if retirement ever arrives & I back off from modelling at 12 inches to the foot) the period 1950 - 1970, so I have plenty of alternatives. I would dearly have liked to buy one of each of the 4 & 6 wheeled versions for something a bit different, but the Oxford version as it stands just has enough errors for a BR version to put me off. Perhaps when retirement does arrive, I can pick a couple up on the second hand market & then carve them up to suit my tastes. As regards the finesse of Oxfords products, they do a very nice model, it's just a shame that they take their eye off the ball. I'd much rather that they'd have done a spot on early GWR version & then just cheated & put BR markings on it - at least that way, some people would have a good model for their chosen period, but as things are, no one is happy.
  9. My wallet is over the moon about this model, well done Oxford, close but no cigar
  10. See Kernow Models have got a couple of decent stills shots on their website
  11. Pictures open fine for me - but then I am on Facebook
  12. Sadly my W14W didn't even get to touch it's wheels on any track, due to the obvious paint mark on one end, back in the post to the retailer tomorrow . . .
  13. Interesting positioning of the smokebox door handles on 2537
  14. Hi Coachmann, In the spirit of constructive comment, I've no idea what the bit of pipework that you've added is on the right had side of the loco, but in a pic that I've found on 'tinternet' it appears to be missing - pic by Robert Darlaston. For some reason I don't appear to be able to post a link I know, time period is everything & there's no saying that you are modeling 2538 as in 1957 Cheers, Mike C
  15. I'm still waiting for some pics to be posted, but I fear that my wallet is starting to cower in the corner. From looking at the pics on the Rails of Sheffield site, it does look as though the wash out plugs might be above the handrail now, but then the handrail does also look to drift down once it has passed through the last handrail nob, so who knows. I await a selection of photos with interest
  16. But the question is, what moldings are they using, the updated ones, or the originals - if it's the originals, then it will be a no sale to me
  17. Ouch, north of £200 notes, that's too much for my pockets
  18. I see Kernow have posted a new pic - looking good https://www.facebook.com/KernowModelRailCentre/photos/rpp.207521425956079/1775752252466314/?type=3&theater
  19. Oh well, another own goal by Oxford & no sale to me. The only thing that is happy is my wallet, as it's staying clamped shut. Disappointed
  20. Not being an expert on Maunsell stock, I had been wondering why Hornby hadn't gotten round to doing any low window ones in blood & custard, now I know why, not many hung around long enough or were they converted to high windows & then painted blood & custard? Either way I'd better snap up one of R4797 Cheers, Mike C
  21. Have a look at this: You can just catch the odd hint at what a 30 sounded like - shame there's such a nice voice over Cheers, Mike C
  22. Having looked at / listened to 88's video, I'd say that the engine sounds are very much English Electric, hardly surprising really, as I believe that there is only 1 operational former class 30 Mirrlees power unit left in existence & if I remember correctly, that's powering a car crushing plant in France???
  23. Whilst pushing things for my modelled period & time frame, I'd dearly like one & from the above photos, it does look a lovely model (putting to one side all the issues that have been high lighted). However, knowing that Locomotion are having their models adjusted, I won't be splashing any cash until I see how theirs turns out & if theirs has had a number of the issues dealt with, then some money is likely to be coming their way. If I'm spending that amount of dosh, I'd rather spend a few quid extra & get something that is largely there, rather than something that still needs a good bit of work doing to it. All this is a real shame if it does run as smoothly as some people say. & just for the record, I'm after one in BR black
