Heading out..... I'm about to head over to the Manchester airport and the flight(s) back home. It has been an amazing and productive trip! Thanks to Arran and Charlie for being my chauffeurs for the first few days and for putting up with me, and to the entire staff of locomotionmodels.com and the NRM/Shildon for their help in making this all possible. On the way back through Darlington yesterday I was able to stop in and see a group of guys who were building a Large Scale loco kit. Oddly, they didn't seem to have any instructions.... Hi All, Today was (if I say so myself... and I do...) an amazing success, both for Rapido and for locomotionmodels.com. Thanks to everybody who came out, and to the amazing staff at NRM Shildon who once again pulled out all of the stops to make this happen. It was fantastic to be able to talk to so many of you. At the end of the day Richard and his crew pulled the loco and both tenders out from the shed and positioned them for photos, one tender at a time. This makes it very easy to illustrate the two tender designs! The original, larger tender. The smaller "Sturrock" tender. I'M INSULTED!!! We are NOT making this stuff up! After careful research and numerous e-mails we have determined that it was in fact a standard cheese sandwich, no mayo or mustard, crusts on. Our model will, of course, be 100% accurate... There were NO Ham Salad Sandwiches present - nor will there be any in our model! Cancel your order if you must but we will not compromise!!!! Just wanted to say that it was great to get the chance to day to meet and talk with several RM WEB members today at Locomotion. The launch event went extremely well, Jason and I are tremendously encouraged by the response! We're also extremely tired....!
