Given the success of the various Tornado models I'd expect an RTR version to be out soon. A good looking engine. I still regret passing on a kit built one on ebay a few years ago.

No, it will be called Iceland Chicken Fillets - the A1 Trust need the sponsorship.

  3. Feeling rather pleased with myself after getting an ancient Hornby L1 chassis to work, ready to go under my similarly ancient GEM D30.

Hugely popular in some areas it seems. The proces for his albums on Amazon are stratospheric.

Where did you see the picture? Most photos I've seen of that line are of pannier tanks on workmen's trains or the last 57xxs at Halesowen in 1966.

  6. Shame there's not a replacement etched chassis for this K's kit... no matter what I do it's just not straight

No, they look like etches but are machine produced. They definitely aren't a solid block like the old Cotswold chassis blocks. I'd certainly give them a call. I've always found them very helpful. I've no connection other being a satisfied customer.

  9. has landed on the planet of weirdness that is the Lima 94xx bodyshell. Reducing it to modular parts reveals all sorts of strange things :-O

1501 is a favourite of mine. The contrast between it and the other preserved panniers, even the 94XXs is remarkable, despite the Swindon boiler and stylings. What are you going to use for a chassis? I recollect you being interested by the post from the bloke who was going to use a Hornby Schools chassis.
