When is wishlist not a wishlist - when it's wishing there was list of things which aren't on a wishlist.
Hello Mike
That's the list that The 00 Poll Team holds 'in its head' containing around 29,200 items out of about 30,000 potential (the other 800 or so are already in The 00 Poll).🙂

I take your point on the Cycloped and will add it to the 2025 Agenda.

Hello 34C
We have listed GWR Crane Tank Steropes. It was High Polling in 2020 but dropped back to Middle in 2021 - so, it doesn't appear this year. I'm happy to take suggestions as long you give a link of two.
I have had a look at the Y4. To my mind (personally) it isn't really 'quirky' - but I have put it on the main Poll Agenda to see if fits that (and if not, whether it can go to Quirky).

Hello 2750Papyrus
No it hasn't. If you would like it to be considered, please PM with me with link or two.

Well done Brian & team; the obscure and esoteric need their champion in this hobby.
Hello Johnster
Many thanks for your usual supportive comments.
I just wanted to point out that I and The Team do, indeed, put forward a number of the items but many others are suggestions from voters that 'get a fair hearing' before being entered in The Poll.

Hello Michael
The line was in the 2020 Poll. As it was Low Polling, we have deleted it - at least for the time being.

I note there's no scale mentioned on any of these and I assume it's largely OO-centric in which case I wouldn't actually buy any of them as I mostly model in O scale with a bit of HO and Om. Hence I haven't voted although I did enjoy reading the list and I like the trend towards modelling very early railways (Locomotion, Trevithick etc.)
However, one quirk I have recently purchased is an Andrew Barclay fireless loco kit. Industrials are increasingly popular and these were reasonably standardised and quite widespread. I'm surprised it's not on the list. One for next year?
Hello Mol_PMB
You are right that we aren't specific about 00 etc. We felt that the market was wide enough. On that basis, you are welcome to vote as long as they are items you would realistically wish to buy.
The fireless loco was mentioned earlier in the thread and will go on the Agenda.

Hello gr.king
We open the poll to suggestions - this may well have been a suggestion from a previous voter. Stephen Lea made the point also back on page 1.

Hello Wickham Green too
We listed the Volks in 2021 and it came in Low Polling. Hence, it doesn't appear here.

Thanks for the above.
Rule 1 always applies: Only vote for what you would realistically wish to buy.

Looking through the results in Section 15. Freight Stock: Pre-1923 (excluding Scottish Companies), I note that the generic catch-all entries are the ones that came top (and they're the companies I'm most interested in). For the Midland Railway, the entry is 'Freight Stock MR (exc company items already made)'. My question is, what Midland Railway wagons are already available ready-to-run? I didn't know there were any.
Scottish pre-grouping freight stock all appears in Section 6. Locos & Rolling stock: Scottish Companies (inc some Scottish LNER & BR Classes). Whilst there were 107 votes for Caledonian Railway (CR) rolling stock, 73 votes for both Highland Railway (HR) and North British Railway (NBR) rolling stock and 47 votes for Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) rolling stock, there doesn't appear to be anything entry for the Glasgow and South Western Railway. Was there any reason why the poor old G&SWR was overlooked? I wouldn't cast a vote for the G&SWR as it wouldn't be top of my wish list, but if anyone were to produce a G&SWR open wagon I'd probably buy one.
Hello David
We had to list a number of items in such a way and you are right that - as far as I know - none actually are made at the moment. There are other headings where it is difficult to be precise. We have worked closely with a number of clubs and societies to fill a number of gaps that recent announcements have left.
There will be at least three MR-specific vehicles along with individual vehicles for numerous other companies for 2024. If you have followed the poll over the years, you will have seen our notes stating that we were steadily expanding individual vehicles.
In respect of the GSWR - and bearing in mind our space constraints, there being a potential excess of 30,000 items to list - the company has always been at the low end of low polling, so we took the decision to leave it out. It might go back one day though.

I am assuming something like an Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 fireless loco is way too unquirky to make the listings of the quirky poll Brian ?
Hello Covkid
You - and anyone - are welcome to make suggestions for 2025 and they will 'get a fair hearing'.
When we had an Industrial category in the main Poll, the 0-4-0 Fireless loco was Top 50 in 2018 having climbed from High Polling in 2016.

Hello again PhilJ W
I have found the answer...
The main poll notes show that I was supposed to move it to Quirky for this year - and I have somehow failed to do that!🤪
It is going on the 2025 Agenda now!

Hello PhilJ W
The Bug was in the main poll and was Middle Polling in 2018 and High Polling in 2019. At present, I am unsure why we didn't relist it in 2022 (the next Poll to run) so have dropped a note to The Team. It might take a day or two to answer.

FR does it for me.
Hello adb968008
The Paget loco was in the 2019 Poll but was Low Polling, so it has been deleted. That's not to say that it won't ever appear again, though.

Would have loved to see a Type IV Cockerill i.e. Lucie from the NYMR
Hello E100
Lucie was in the 2021 Poll but only achieved Middle Polling. For this and future Polls, we maintain the Top 3 and High Pollers, but replace all Middle and Low.

Thanks Mark - a good point.
I think what we had in mind was the 'visible type' and - as you say - the Head Wrightson is definitely quirkier!

The Quirky Poll 2023
Hello everyone
Welcome to this latest Quirky Poll. We run this in conjunction with our friends Andy York & Phil Parker of RMweb. In the past, many of you have found these Polls to be just what we intended… ‘a little bit of Christmas fun’!
You will find 25 items to vote for – some of which are your suggestions from 2021 – each with a link to a photo and/or further detail. The ‘actual Poll’ can be accessed via the usual banner headline entry at the top of the page or via a link on this page I think (Andy will load that during the day if not already done). We haven’t listed certain suggestions as models are available – albeit from overseas makers.
You may tick as many items as you like, but – although this is ‘Christmas fun’ – they must be items that you would realistically wish to buy if they were ever made (as you do with The 00 Wishlist Poll) – it is not to decide ‘the quirkiest’.
The Top Item of the 2021 Poll – the Streamlined B17 – has been made as has the Top Item from 2019 – Stephenson’s Rocket – and the Top Two of the 2020 Poll – Bellerophon and Titfield Thunderbolt.
Will you pick some more winners this year?
OK…stop working and get quirking! You have until 18.00 on Friday 29 December 2023 to vote.
We aim to publish the results in the usual Poll Team format as soon as we can on 1 January 2022 – look for the title: Results – The Quirky Poll 2023.
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you all!

I highly suspect that a list like this one already exists within this forum, however l ve not been able to find it, so l thought it would be fun if I started my own, so please feel free to add locos you think are missing that should be available RTR. These are not one off locos but everyday bread and butter types

Hello Bob C
The 00 Wishlist Poll Team runs The 00 Wishlist Poll every two years (alternating with The Quirky Poll which will be starting shortly).
If you search: Results - The 00 Wishlist Poll 2022, you might find some answers.

Hello everyone
Apologies for the slight delay in writing - an elderly family member has just come out of hospital and I have been tied up with 'the care package'.
Indeed, as Andy rightly says, The Quirky Poll 2023 is currently with him to set up 'the computerised elements' from our supplied data - exactly as per the main poll. Although The Polls are hosted by RMweb, it is not connected with them and has no influence on them. Andy kindly arranges the ‘computerised elements’ for us in his own time.
Our full intention is to run The 00 Wishlist Poll in 2024 and alternate year-on-year with Quirky.
In the first instance, look out for the thread The Quirky Poll 2023 from around mid-December. We will run until towards the end of December, with Results asap in January 2024.
