  1. Hawick when it was Simple Minds. Alive and Kicking......... Mac.
  2. Mind and drill the dome casing off said farish 27. If authenticity is is required? Mac.
  3. Crossing Mangerton viaduct? You were right about smut, Matt. That's smut of the highest order that photo! Liddel Viaduct at the Caul Pool. 232, Muckle Knowe is ahead of the engine in the cutting. (He says waiting on correction from Roy).
  4. 7.61 Gb and counting of porn ("general interest material" if you prefer). This is before we take into consideration the archive, other source photos, further personal archives and plans/drawings. That figure will quadruple at least and this is going to be a monster of a resource. Thanks guys and keep watching. Mac.
  5. Sandholm or Kershopefoot Roy? 27 came to a stand at 227 did it not? Mac.
  6. Thanks Dave. Very much learning new skills here with posting, attaching, etc so please bare with me all. Mac.
  7. 2 images as a comparison to the Welch and Leslie books as mentioned earlier and a single image for the big yin of the solitary last timber of the sleeper deflection fence. I've loaded some shots of 229 onto the structures page too. Any requests for local shots i.e. Hawick to Longtown (difficult south of Kershope due to English trespass laws) more than welcome. The walks will do me good. I'll go bag a comparative shot of the White Knights rescue location in the next couple of days. Enjoy gentlemen, Mac.
  8. Hopefully this should work. Bridge 229, Raltonbridge at the end of the Roan farm lane half a mile north of the Holm. Mac.
  9. Imagine managing to fail and bring the train to a stand on a falling gradient? I'd of coasted to the Holm at least if it wasn't a brake pipe problem which clearly it wasn't as 77 managed to lift the lot the 2 mile into copshaw. Mac.
  10. Mate its out and out gorse country. An you can make wine from that so very much my territory!!
  11. I can and will. Maybe not just know though as its 02:11. I'll email it one of you to post as I've nae clue when it comes to that up loading ting and I've only just got hang of youporn?
  12. Particularly if its a Robotham or David Cross book! It could be anywhere apart from where stated. I've emailed you another photo as confirmation Matt. Page 39 of R.H. Leslie's Steam on the Waverley for those of you lucky enough to have a copy.
  13. Good pint!!!! 37's no bad either mind.
  14. There are only 2 unconfirmed Deltic's (which numbers escape me) that are not confirmed as traversing the route. DP1 was sent over the route light engine for trials between Edinburgh and Berwick and travelled back to the Eastern Region over the route. One of our members (WRHA) was a "bobby" at Stobs Camp and has a photograph of her in the sidings there. I believe all the production series traversed the route but as I said 2 numbers need confirming. With regards the 50's, I have heard talk of them but have no evidence for them at all. Iain Mac.
  15. The viaduct and plate girder section look just fine and I think it would be hard to spot that the buttress is in fact a solution to a slight short fall in length (if you hadn't mentioned it in the text). I've never really been a fan of brick paper in any scale above 2mm but to be honest I cant fault the look of viaduct at all. Very nice work and I look forward to viewing progress. It gives a very impressive back drop to your excellent rolling stock construction skills. Iain Mac.
  16. No, thats nothing short of beautiful. You have captured the power, presence and reverberating energy to a T. Favoraites, save if you don't mind...... Absolute first class.
  17. P.s. I don't know what your plans are re signalling or the proximity to the bridge but some v tall ones or duel acting signals would look immense........
  18. Looking good. Please don't take this as a criticism but some chimney's for the cottage (s) would set the scene off perfectly. Newton Jnc at Ayr had a tall box and with a wee footway from the retaining wall topped off with the railings you mentioned in your previous post could work nicely. Keep going, it looking good and bearing fruit.
  19. Simply beautiful. Very accomplished work and ingenuity with the tender coupling, pick ups and braking. Well done and I look forward to your next post on painting (that's my blind spot. I'm alright at painting but nothing special).
  20. Coming together very nicely. Its looking V good. Mac.
  21. Halfords, used to at least, produce a very fine mesh for car body work which with body filler I have used very successfully in the past to produce topography. I see know reason why this material or similar if not available and "no more nails" would not provide the same results. Indeed no more nails would provide a better key fo scenic materials and can be readily carved and roughed up to provide said key. To me I think it would depend on the embankment height and the type of base board construction (open frame, flat earth etc). It looks flat earth from the photos? A couple of formers to support it along the length will help. The mesh sheets if you can find them (I'm confident something similar must exist, its about a 2-3mm weave and A4 in size) is self supporting but will benefit from support as the landscape is applied. I hope this helps and isn't too vague. Mac.
  22. Top notch weathering both on the loco's and trackwork. A good trial exercise for the back drop. My own personal preference is for embossed materials in scales from 4mm upwards but you have achieved excellent results none the less Jon. Always been a fan of the Deltics, inherited from my father who worked fro EE.
