  1. And does it acknowledge Darwin Awards? Bill
  2. Mike, Your TLoC may be due to hypotension. You might wish to acquire a blood pressure monitor. Bill
  3. Easy, get a sun hat with a "pocket" in the top. Pop in to the first aid post and blag a small "kool it" bag. Shake the crystals and put the bag in the hat. Mind you, the crystals melted at Lord's on Saturday - we had to store then in a fridge. Bill
  4. Breaking news. Govia Thameslink are introducing a new timetable. They promise this one will be robust. There will be no trains. Bill
  5. Weird day at Lord's, the Indians preferring batting practice to winning a game. Embedded with an Indian group, who didn't know either, and lots of enjoyable banter. Got home late and totally knackered. Bill
  6. Evening all, Quite a complex day. Turned on the radios at Lord's, paid an invoice for my P8 (DB 4-6-0), bought the new Eric Clapton for HJ's birthday, bought underwear at M&S, bought a wallet at John Lewis, tripped over the dump trump march in Regents Street and thought "what the hell" joined in until it got jammed in Haymarket, when I took to the back streets to the National Gallery and visited the Monet exhibition. It looks as if the girls will lose to New Zealand and the boys will as sure as heck lose to India tomorrow, even with me there. So shave, wash and bed. Bill
  7. Robert, How sad. But peaceful and his family with him. Bill
  8. Thanks, Tony, but probably not enough depth for Spur Null Bill
  9. Guys, I am expecting something fairly large and very Teutonic in the next month or so. Previously I have used flight boxes from Maplins for storage and transportation, but of course they have ceased to trade. Can anyone think of a retail outlet? But not RS Components - too expensive. Otherwise it will be mail order, but not the south American firm as a matter of principle. Keep well all, Bill
  10. Shave, bath, breakfast and off to an induction. Eight new ones. Bill
  11. and a letter from the IRS? Bill
  12. Late finish for the first Aid team at Lord's yesterday, certainly for the guy (me) who has to check and clean 24 radios. It also took a long time to clear 24,000 out of the stands and a fair number stayed for a beer or few. Hence home at 12:15 and felt fairly whacked all today. Watched some dire amateur dramatics this evening; apparently the afternoon was as bad. And so to bed. Keep well all. Bill
  13. Mike, youngish, female and not enough hydration? Bill
  14. Bet that was more than £40! Bill
  15. So yesterday, I let home at 9:30am for church, the charity (*), diocesan synod (via Ian Allen) with drinkies to celebrate the end of the trimester, back home at 10:00pm and straight to bed. Lord's today for a 20:20 game. Bill (*) finally balanced the bank account to 31/03/18. The lass who input the figures had her own version of double entry; one when the invoice was received, the other when the cheque was drawn - go figure! And debits and credits were random. Oh, and of course, the last error was mine but obvious when the variation was twice that entry.
  16. Laurence, Next time, take your monitor to the vets. But the variation is not atypical - my bp spikes with caffeine input. Pre caffeine, I'm running with 130 / 75; pulse 48. Bill
  17. Harry, Change of plan - Diocesan Synod - what time do you shut up shop? Bill
  18. We had the real thing this morning. With a few complications thrown in. Bill
  19. A very hot one at mine. Didn't get to see much cricket although Hampshire won! Actually I was located in the Mound stand with the Kent supporters. some Arithmetic: Heat + alcohol + dehydration + existing medical conditions = big sick. We had several of those. Thank goodness for good doctors, a superb first aid team and a brilliant team of stewards. I got grief at the debrief because I found two running calls - I'm getting a reputation! The girls start at 3pm. Bill
  20. My Saturday default is the radio. Unfortunately we're between Brain of Britain and Round Britain Quiz. Bill
  21. By the by, "Wright writes" has turned interesting as they discuss regional accents on the BBC. Any of our "stirrers" tempted to join in? Bill
  22. Early to bed, early to rise to Lord's for the one day final. Wearing Kelly Green, so externally neutral, but a lifelong Hampshire supporter. Bill
