Admission will include a free vintage bus ride connecting the two venues (and hence, Slough railway station).

Citroen come up with a relatively cheap EV that's still a proper car.
That is strange. Citroen don't often produce 'proper' cars. They usually have something weird and wonderful about them.

My layout is loaded in the car ready for the morning 🙂
See you all there.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this exhibition is now split between two locations. Some of the layouts will be at the Slough Museum in the Slough Trading Estate as planned, while some layouts will now be located at the meeting place of the Slough & Windsor Railway Society, next to Slough station, called 'The Manor'.

I can only imagine the Social Media Vloggers and certain newspaper journalists have been having wet dreams thinking up headlines in case the Luton Airport car park fire involved any EVs.

I did buy her a red and white stripey jumpsuit with numbers on, but she would never wear it 😜

Some people just cannot cut in straight lines. The ground floor windows are all at different heights, and what a mess he made of the top left window ...

The backscene is so dramatic - a work of art in its own right.

I did once get to explore down the far end at Alresford, but no camera, and no idea of the year. There were a pair of wooden underframed wagons at the buffer stops that had been squashed beyond repair (I assume) by some rough shunting (again, I assume).

Back in 2004 this happened to a Renault on the French Autoroute. I think, if I remember correctly, the police cleared a ringway and let him go round and round on his own until it ran out of fuel.

Which just goes to prove how your dealer treats you can make a huge difference to your perception of a brand.
The VW dealers in Newbury and Basingstoke were very good at spoiling what should have been nice experience. I did not even look at VW EVs when the Ioniq lease was up.

I could not work out which thread to post this photo in.
Should it be 'When the real thing looks like a model'?
Or on the otherhand,
should it be in the 'Realistic Modelling' thread?
Perhaps it could go in a 'Prototype' thread?
I don't know.
Maybe this would help:
Today at the Royal Victoria Country Park near Southampton.

Perhaps they'd run out of Letraset?
Letraset is a thing of the past now, like calligraphy.
Comedian Roy Hudd used to be a commercial artist, working under Harry Beck (creator of the London Underground Map) specialising in hand draughting text. When Letraset first appeared, Roy saw his job prospects vanishing and moved to making people laugh full time. Now, it is all done on computers.
Have you seen the prices some people are asking for part-used sheets of Letraset on eBay?

My 2018 Ioniq four year company lease was extended to four years and eight months because of extended lead times currently being experienced. During that time I covered about 50k miles. That is less than half the mileage of my previous four years because of Covid lockdown and more working from home since. The car was great, no noticeable degradation of battery performance, and a healthy 5+miles per kWh. The 120-140 mile range was adequate for the most part, and I could count the times I used public chargers on two hands.
I now have an Ioniq 5 and have done about 2k miles in it already. The range seems to be just over 300 miles, and I am getting a little over 4 miles per kWh, which is pretty good these days with bigger, heavier batteries being fitted. All seems OK at the moment, but I do miss the lighting up door handles at night making the flush door handles hard to find.
