Yes, in SE London, the bumble bees are coming in to the house through the open windows and the parakeets are pecking the blossom off the ornamental cherry tree, the foxes have found an alternative to last year's den under our decking and the magpies have a nest in the conifers at the end of the garden!

Unfortunately impatience often overcomes common sense where driving is concerned - and not just re level crossings; overtaking on bends, and the crests of hills, parking across the pavement outside a cash machine rather than finding a legitimate parking space, the list goes on and on.... No idea about the circumstances of the latest tragedy - just a comment on road users generally

Don't forget also that the Post Office started to change spellings to avoid confusion in Victorian times - for example Tunbridge became Tonbridge to avoid confusion with the newer settlement of Tunbridge Wells, Hutton Hole in Yorkshire became Hutton-le-hole. Mind you Kingston by Railway became Surbiton for entirely different reasons... edit - insert missing words
