  1. Hi Stephen. 37087 went departmental grey in April 1990 after an F exam at Doncaster works. Regards Vin
  2. Hi Dudley, I've had a look for this issue of BRM but cannot find it. My rubbish filing system! I can show you some close up shots of my wagons. All of these are built from PS104 hopper kits and are basically out of the box without additional parts, even down to the transfers. The only additional consumables needed are Humbrol Precision Poly cement, rattle can grey primer, rattle can matt black, Railmatch freight stock rail grey, Railmatch frame dirt and a whole host of weathering powders and paints. The main adjustment I make to the kit are to the coupling hooks which need shortening so that they fit between the headstock and the inner frame. All these wagons are modelled from Paul Barletts wagon website, just search for HTO. I built the bodies first leaving them to set overnight and then spraying them all over with grey primer. While that is drying I built the chassis separately on a piece of plate glass so that the frame doesn't twist, which will cause the wagon too wobble once finished. When the chassis is set I lightly oiled the axle boxes and taped the wheel treads, spraying it with matt black paint before the buffers and coupling hooks are fitted. The bodies are now sprayed freight stock grey and married to the body. I hope this helps? Vin
  3. Hi I found a excellent match for SR Malachite green - Rover Java green. It does need to be on a grey primer base as it appears too light on a white one. Regards Vin
  4. Hi Brian, Great to see the Deltic coming on. My experience with the yellow acrylics is that they are thicker than the blues. As one jar of yellow did both the DBSO sides and 97301, but a jar of blue gave my peak a couple of coats with a bit to spare. How are you going to fill the cab quarter lights? Vin
  5. Hi pugsley, That is one seriously engineered bogie. With a lot spent on it. I take my hat off to you for going to the lengths of making all the correct physical parts that work. Did you use the original English Electric drawings for the bogies to work on, or did you produce it from photographs. Either way it's very impressive. I like it. Vin
  6. Hi Brian, Very nice model, coming on a treat. Has the motor and gear set been specially designed for this 08 or would it possible to use other types of drive? I've also noticed that lighting the shunter seems problematic especially in the cab end. Are you planning to fit head and tail lights? Vin
