  1. Hi RJS1977, Don't worry, I have done my reserch into her. I'm going to find all the details on her before doing it. Thanks for the help, Jacob
  2. Hi Everyone, I have been thinking about doing a Rename, Renumber and detail project for a while and now, I have thought up plans for it. I am going to buy a Hornby Railroad Range Model of The DCC Fitted A4 'Mallard' I have allready got a Super Detail model of A4 Mallard which is outstanding. The new name for the A4 is undecided but I'm thinking about 'Dominion Of Canada' I will use Model Masters for The Nameplates and Numbers and Fox Transfers for the Crest under the cab number. Their will be more details to come soon! Jacob
  3. Hi bcnPete, Hmm, This could be a possibiltiy. I'll have to see though as I'm on a bit of a budget for this layout as I have also got my OO Guage Layout to consentrate. But It's a good idea! Thanks for the help, Jacob
  4. Hi Everyone, Last night I Thoguth up plans for a N Guage Layout and Asked for help with a track plan on aother forum. The new layout will measure 3ft 8inches X 1ft 9 inches. Which is quite small! No Era will be out in place but I'm thinking about modern imige as I think it looks quite good in 'N' This is my pssible track Plan, http://www.freetrackplans.com/forum/downlo...3&mode=view More Details to come! Jacob
  5. Hi Everyone, I have decided to stop doing monthly updates and just update my blog when things have been going on. Firstly, I have managed to get some of my signaling planed and it will Fianly mean a project which should not cost too much! I have also got a new loco, It's a Hornby R3023 J94 Tank. When I went to my local model shop to buy it they asked if I would like it DCC Chipping. I said yes as I would have no chance doing it at home! Jacob
  6. Hi Everyone, It's took me alot shorter time than I have expected to get back up to date with my Layout but this layout update are what the plans are and what the Layout looks like at this moment in time (August 2011) August was due to be a very busy month with the scenery on my Layout with alot of Metcalfe kits to be bought! Early August 2011: Not much has changed to do with the layout from Late July but their have been a few changes. I have cut out templates of all the Metcalfe Buildings to make sure they will all fit and I can see how much everything is going to cost. Nothing went on except from running trains on My Layout in mid August. Late August 2011: Alot has gone on in The back end of August with my Birthday and things. The Back end of August brought two new locomotives into my collection The Black 5 in the Pete Waterman collection and the Hornby A4 'Empire of India' both are excellent models. I also went to a model shop to spend my Birthday Money and also some other money. I bought 11 Metcalfe kits, the Hornby A4 'Empire of India', and decoder and some DCC Point Clips. My Station is almost completed and most of the track has been bought! However, we have had a problem with the points, I bought Right hand points instead of Left hand points! and I also bought too many Metcalfe Parcel Offices and Waiting rooms Kits as I thought only one building was included in Each pack However two Buildings are included in Each Pack. August 2011 also brought up plans for a possible board extension, Tram lines and a canal across the top of the tunnel! The Board Extension would probably measure 2ft 8inches by 2ft 6 inches. It will be accessibly via the postal branch line coming from a point in the second, smaller siding with a diamond crossing across the larger siding and across onto the possible extension, the extension will most likely be for locomotive storage area, the new possible locomotive yard will be fully scenic! The Plans for the Trams came into my head while watching a video of some 00 Scale Trams running on some ones layout and I thought they looked quite good! So I came up with a Idea that I could have a tram running down the side of my Layout and onto the High street terminating at my station. The Plan for the Canal was just a random idea and it will run on top of my tunnel, it will have a overflow on it which will turn into the stream running through the Forrest and small village and into a tunnel where it will dissapear underneath my Goods yard. So that's it for a rather large August Update and the Next Update will be sometime towards the Back end of September. Jacob
  7. Hi Everyone, Here is the July Update for my layout. July was set to be quite a busy month on My Layout with the arrival of the Hornby Special Edition of Tornado and plans for a postal branch line. Early July 2011: Not much change to do with track work but their was two new arrivals to do with locomotives. The Biggest Arrival was the Hornby Special Edition of newly Built A1 'Tornado' I thought Hornby had produced a great model Evan though alot of people seemed a bit disappointed with the model. The Second Arrival came three days after Tornado and it was the Limited Edition Model of the GWR class 101 to celebrate 175 years (Now 176 years) of GWR. This also proved to be a good model for shunting although it does have scale speeds of 300-400 MPH! Mid July 2011: In the middle of July 2011 I decided to draw up plans for all of my sidings, this did not take too long though. Other than that the only other thing that happened was plans for a Postal Branch line Came into our minds. Late July 2011: In the Back end of July the plans for the postal branch line were drawn up and a bit of the track was laid. We also came up with plans for another goods yard, this one was to be hid behind the tunnel! The Postal branch line and the hidden goods yard were to be Acsesed via the turn table and the one line was split into to two lines with a curved point. In The very last days of July we came up with plans for a forest in the middle of the board with a small stream running through it which will flow into a tunnel and disappear under the main goods yard. So that's it for the July Update and I will type up the August Update soon, Jacob
  8. Hi Everyone, Just going to tell you what has being going on with my Layout During June 2011, Early-Middle June 2011: So I have been to my Local Model Shop (Millemium Models) to buy all the track, I have put it all on the layout and it looks great, most of my locomotives now have sidings! We Finished Track pinning in the Middle of June and it is all firmly in place, the plans for a terminus station have been scraped due to plans to build the station out of a Metcalfe kits, not Hornby Skaledale as originally thought. The Layout is looking great at this stage. Late June 2011: During the Back End of June I thought up plans for three new sidings coming from a point just before the turntable. The Sidings will also be used for a DCC Programming Track which I have needed for a while! So that's it for June 2011, The July Update will be up soon! Jacob
  9. Hi Everyone, As Everyone will know this blog is a bit behind as the Layout construction started in May 2011 and it is now August 2011. Anyway here is what happen with my layout during May 2011! Early May 2011: The Board has finally been finished, after four years planning and about three months constructing we have finally got it at my house. It measures 8ft by 4ft 6 inches with a small 2ft 8 inches by 1ft 6 inches bit control and turntable area. It has taken about 3 hours to fit to the walls and floors in my bedroom. Anyway, It's fitted and Track planning will begin soon. So, some track has been layed, the first Train has ran and the track plan is almost complete, now just the price of the Track that still needs to be bought! Middle of May 2011: I have just completed the price for the track and it will all be bought soon, then Track pinning can Start. I have just thought up the plans for the tunnel, and that's really it for May 2011.
