  1. For all of you who are looking to add a little authenticity to your model of 34100 'Appledore' in its 1966/67 guise it should be noted that loco crew in the last days of steam could be very young ! Salisbury MPD 1966/67 yours truly takes the footplate in the attached pic ! Cheers Clive
  2. 6053 posts and a youngster eh ?..........This saving thing is it.....Pocket money !
  3. And this weeks figures From Kernow posted on Face book just now:- Orders processed this week not including MR109 MR110 is 113 which over a six day week gives a daily average of 18.8. Outstanding orders is 545 so divided by current daily rate of 18.8 gives 28.9 days at a 6 day week gives 4.8 weeks to clear the lot or if your like end of October/ beginning of Nov. As for MR 109 & 110 orders processed this week 9, outstanding orders 114. As stated previously this is just an estimate based on single orders and doesn't include multiple orders etc etc I have no connection to Model Rail or Kernow and only provide this info for my own amusement. Cheers Clive
  4. Sorry but we'll have to agree to disagree because that still feels wrong to me, as without the commitment to purchase the locos in the first place the whole project would never have gone ahead. Mnd you if you think my comments above were bad you should have seen what I wrote to the editor of Model Rail ! What it illustrates to me though is whatever valiant effort Kernow have done (and I've used Kernow before), as a subcontractor to Model Rail for the delivery of such a large run of models they appear to be too small an operation to successfully cope with the timescale of 'Up to 28 days' that Model Rail still advertise on their website. Oh and after my 'toys out of the pram' session yesterday I got email confirmation of dispatch. Cheers Clive
  5. Whoah !!! Quote ' I got the text message that my second 30064 ordered today is on its way for delivery tomorrow' !!!!! So you can go on line and order a 30064 and get it dispatched the next day, but if you have one on order for the last three years your still stuck waiting for kernow to extract their digit with a weekly update saying don't phone blah blah some 6 weeks after they took delivery of MR103 and MR104 ! That's wrong on so many levels, so pre order means nothing then ! And yes I know these are cancelled orders but really they should have cleared the back orders first then offered these for sale, sorry but that's really bad PR. Clive Would just add my outburst is not directed at adb968008 but at Kernow and Model Rail.
  6. Blimey ! Just realised I placed my order on 1st May 2013 for MR-104 and 17th Sept 2013 for MR-103 ! Hmmmm........ It must be getting close to dispatch by now....I can feel it in my water !!
  7. OK here we go again. With this weeks figures (posted on facebook today) it goes like this :- Processed in the last week 327 (not including MR109 or MR110). This gives an Average over a six day week of 327 divided by 6 gives 54.5 a day against last weeks 27.5 a day ( I suspect this increase is due to no model shows last week) Outstanding Orders 658 (not including MR109 or MR110 not enough info to give an accurate figure on those), divided by current daily rate of 54.5 gives 12 days, or if a 6 day week then 2 weeks to clear all (Around the beginning of October). But I suspect that the rate of getting models out the door will again drop to around the 27.5 figure per day in the coming weeks as there are more model shows scheduled on the kernow website , so to clear all as a rough estimate I feel is still the middle to late October (but including MR109 – MR110 would slow that up further) This doesn't include multiple orders etc.. Of course this is just an estimate based on the current rate of processing for my own amusement since Model Rail’s website still says ‘Maybe up to 28 days’….hmmmmmm... bit cheeky that !!!!! . I would just say I have no connection with either Model Rail or Kernow and I just use the published figures to work out an estimate of delivery timespan for those like myself who are patiently waiting. But hey …they might turn up tomorrow !
  8. OK. Since Kernow kindly provided us with figures again this week it goes like this :- Processed in the last week MR101 - 5, Mr102 - 3, MR103 - 29, MR 104 - 121, MR107 - 18, MR108 - 5. This gives an Average over a six day week of 165 divided by 6 gives 27.5 a day. Outstanding Orders 984, divided by current daily rate of 27.5 gives 36 days, or if a 6 day week then 6 weeks to clear the above (Around the end of October). Of course this is just a rough estimate based on the current rate of processing which is down from my initial estimate last week due to show commitments/flooding and nasty customers phoning up (Shame on you !). Plus doesn't include multiple orders or the arrival of MR109 or MR110 (which must have happened earlier this week if an earlier posting is correct). I expect with the release of next weeks figures that things should improve since Kernow have no Model Shows this weekend thus I expect to clear will return to Early/Mid October. OH and out of Curiosity I've asked Model Rail on Facebook How are the orders prioritised, Chronological, alphabetical etc as it seems a little haphazard to me. Anyway we'll wait to see what the answer is, so in the meantime its...Carry on Grin and bear it !
  9. I know, it’s slightly depressing to see someone receive a 30067MR-109 (Nice pic by the way !) which last week wasn’t in stock whilst orders for 30064 and 30069 still remain unfulfilled, but I guess we just grin and bear it !
  10. OK, excluding the versions yet to be delivered there are 1149 outstanding orders. Allowing for the fact kernow has other orders for its own business, and attends modelshows which would cut down the availibilty of staff etc, and everybody plays nice and doesn't phone, lets say 40 a day for 5 days a week this gives a little under 6 weeks to clear the backlog (not allowing for multiple orders), sooooo it'll be around Mid October to clear the lot. If they do more a day or more days a week, then it'll be early October. This though is if they just keep banging out orders, for those with no crdit card details or out of the date details the process will slow down, whatever the 28 days thing I suspect no longer applies. 'I could be wrong, I could be right '(God bless you John Lydon !) but as an estimate I think thats in the right ball park. Cheers Clive
  11. OK John, My humour on the subject didn’t work for you, lets try this. If a person places a pre order over a period of years then it is perfectly reasonable to expect regular updates in return since individuals have commited to purchasing the items and thus without them the loco would not even exist. No one is askng for daily, weekly updates, some of us just want a little info. A couple of locos will cost over 200 quid and the closer it gets to completion then I for one would like to know roughly the delivery date in order since it has to fit in with the monthly budget, its not a lot to ask. I would also love to see pics of the tooling, the painting process, boxing etc. (Hornby's engine shed is good in this respect) In the model aircraft world though this is commonplace and adds so much to the hobby, if you don’t want that then fine, but please understand you’ve got the premise of ‘have enough going on in our lives’ the wrong way round ! Because of busy lives, and having a life some of us would like the information because it really helps. Cheerio Clive
  12. Milord John of Isherwood, I be only a humble servant of the lower order, but some of us placed multiple preorders for the said USA tanks which means at some point our 'other less enlightened halves' may notice a large transaction on the joint Barclaycard ! Forewarned is forearmed, thus I humbly request that updates to progress be put on this forum to ensure continued harmony ! Regards Clive
