Ive emailed Railtec to see if they will do the 20 transfers required for the 5 coach set, but as a 9 coach set, it would need a further 16, thats 36 errors
I hope Railtec do the decals, I for one would buy a set.

As previously mentioned, sound fitted versions are available directly from Dapol.

They haven’t announced a sound fitted. The options are no decoder, dcc fitted or dcc fitted with smoke.

The problem with distributing stock from the Hornby on-line store, which would only be possible if it was not a separate entity, is how do you distribute any "surplus" stock? Say the online shop has 200 of a certain model, how many shops are supplied by Hornby, probably at least 200? Do you then give one or two shops all the spare stock, because they asked first, or do you give each shop one model each? Entering into some sort of bidding contest for the spare models would just lead to chaos.
I don't know the answer but Hornby may be of the view that trying to distribute any "surplus" stock will cause more difficulties and upset than it would solve. Perhaps their view is that keeping it in one location where everyone, with internet, has access to it, is the fairest way to supply the public? I know we will all think that any "surplus" models should go to our favorite shop but that may just not be practical.
I don't know the answers but I am not privy to all the facts.

Found them in their new place but can't access my account and awaited prepaid Leader order. Have used their "contact us" form with all my details and hope to hear from them soonish.
Try resetting your password, mine had stopped working.

As already mentioned a couple of times, slip a bit of wire insulation, of a suitable size, over the end of the peg. Alternatively, if you want a more permanent solution, melt the end of the peg with a hot screwdriver to form a flat end.

I hesitate to contradict you but only those who are carrying out strenuous activities are likely to need additional salt. Individuals going about their normal activities should not need additional salt unless directed by medical advice. Too much salt is bad for people and a normal diet contains the salt needed by most people. Rehydration drinks are better than salt tablets as they should contain a better mix of sodium chloride and water. Regular use of salt tablets in hot countries was discontinued by the armed forces years ago.
Sorry to disagree but I don't think many RMWebers will be running marathons next week.
By the way, I'm in Scotland and we're hoping the snow will melt.

if it's salty your salt levels are OK, if it's not salty you need salt.
It would be very unusual for anyone to need additional salt, there should be more than enough salt in your diet for normal needs.

Harburn Hobbies in Edinburgh have been in existence for at least 90 years, about 60 of them under the current owners.

I wonder how valuable the catalogue is as a product - we know people like it, so presumably it sells well and should be very profitable. Dribbling out announcements during the year would kill this golden goose.
I think the Bachmann catalogue illustrates this point well, it is basically a list of products which are delayed or are poor sellers and therefore still available.

Check and see if the tape is jammed in the cassette. The camera might not be able to move it and therefore assumes that it is at the end and needs to be ejected.
Just a guess.
Hope you get it sorted.

So, has anyone here found a way to hide the visible capacitors from the trailers and is it wise to outright remove them?
This may be already covered above but, if you are reasonably competent with a soldering iron, it is a fairly simple job to remove the existing capacitors, and reattach them with a sufficient length of wire to allow the capacitor to be placed next to the weights under the seating. The only thing to watch out for is be careful when removing the capacitor from the PCB as if you are not careful you can lift the copper track as well. If that happens, scape the coating of the remaining copper track and solder to that. Sorry, although I have done this to mine, I have no photos.

Is someone setting up a rota for asking every 5 minutes over the weekend "Are they here yet"? I'm happy to do "kicking the back of the drivers seat" duty if it would help!

PS perhaps the Accurascale Team should shut off their tech over the weekend so that they can have some time to themselves.

I had the same problem with the sound chip. It doesn't seem to be a very secure fixing. I ended up using some black tac to stop it falling out again.

Don't quote me on this, but I think both power cars need to be connected together for both to run. I think they are both controlled by a single DCC chip.

It appears that the box was damaged in the post between Hornby and my local model shop.
Forgive me if I am being dense, but why did you accept the wagon with the box in that condition? Could you not have asked for another one, or if that was the only one, and you wanted it that badly, you could have checked the condition in the model shop. To be perfectly honest, I am surprised that the shop even offered it to you in that condition. To cause that much damage to the box, there must have been a lot of other damaged boxes/models in the parcel from Hornby and I would have thought that the shop would have had to return a significant amount of stock.
I don't know where the fault lies but it is nothing to do with the Hornby tier system but is more about why your local shop is selling obviously damaged goods.

Unless they can make them more robust and able to withstand disassembly
The latest versions of the Oxford Mk3s (Virgin) are more robust. I've taken about 10 apart and none of the springs came loose. The steps below the doors are also more securely glued on.

I bought a copy a couple of weeks ago. I've seen it in both WH Smith and Tesco, in the West of Edinburgh but I think it is sold out locally now.

Hi Craig
I would suggest getting in touch with Rapido using the warranty form on their their UK website. There is a known issue with the pickups and I recently had them replaced free of charge. It was a smooth process and they sent me a return postage label, so there was no cost to me.

To be honest, with the Hornby Class 66, it's never worth nearly £220! Unless it's buy 60001, get 60002 free!
Hornby probably agree with you, they sell them at less than £100?

Hi everyone
Just for information, here is a link for the entry requirements for Model Rail Scotland. Please note that these are set by the SEC and not by the Model Rail Scotland organisers, any enquiries should therefore be addressed to the SEC not the organisers. I am not involved with Model Rail Scotland and am only posting this to try and be helpful.

If I remember correctly, the original models were not quick sellers as I am sure that I picked up some at a significant discount.
