  1. I guess we might be lucky we have one open from 9 -3 ( post needs to be dropped off before 2:30 ). All we plan to do is open from 10 so gives us couple hours to pack / get orders round to the post office.
  2. Plan for AGR is either the one of the two following - — Have desk outside and have click / collect system or Ask at the desk and staff will find products for the customer. - One or Two person system in / out with PPE shield for staff & customers alike. Problem we have at present our mail order has been high and with Royal Mail / post office reducing their opening hours we will have to reduce ours so we drop off parcels etc etc Also giving us time to clean store after each day etc etc Anthony @ AGR

  5. Update from AGR - Morning everyone. We're sure that many, if not all, of you saw the PMs address to the country last night, and perhaps have seen the subsequent press reports. We just wanted to clarify our position with regards to reopening to the public. Whilst it seems the announcement offers us a little bit more freedom in how long and how far we can exercise there is still no clarity on non-essential travel and how businesses should operate. We are expecting more details once the new measures have gone through Parliament later this week but for now, for the safety of our customers, our staff and their families, there is no change here at AGR Model Railway Store. Our website is still open and we are picking, packing and shipping orders as quickly as we can. Please be patient with the situation but don't hesitate to get in touch if you do have a query and we'll respond as soon as we are able to. - Anthony & The AGR Model Railway Store Team Please contact us via these channels - www.agrmodelrailwaystore.co.uk or email us @ sales@agrmodelrailwasystore.co.uk We hope to reopen the shop very soon to the public when possible. We thank you for your support during these challenging times for us all and keep safe and well. Many thanks for your co-operation through this time Anthony & The AGR Model Railway Store Team.
  6. It's no problem, just D'oh momment! I have many plans & maps I just need to look them at twice and check my plans before I post on RMweb I am going to have a go with Templot, thank you for the tip
  7. You know have the nagging feeling in the back of your head that you've forgotten something, oh dear back to the drawing board.....
  8. So during lockdown I’ve been messing around with anyrail to give myself idea on the scale I would need to complete whitby town, so from the engine shed and moving towards bog hall / prospect hill, I made a rough idea in 14ft by 3ft plan. Let me know your thoughts I’m thinking it needs to be another 4ft in length to get decent size trains through / stored etc etc ( note where plans are laid out is not it’s final resting place )
  9. Hello, Thank you please come back in years to come to see this build up. But 100% their was turntable at Whitby Town & Two Pits ( One at the turntable / One outside one of the shed roads ) the turntable is more located away / otherside of the running lines from the shed ( Under the big carpark now ) You just see the pit as you enter the turntable. The turntable is next on the todo list so will feature here very soon I hope.

  12. Updated the front page with photos and added more shops!
  13. Email from UK Model Shops Directory - Hi Folks, I have been advised by Trains4U in Peterborough that there are some low life people going round the country shoplifting from various Model Shops. Here is what they have sent to me - "I am [contacting] you as we had a couple of shoplifters in on Wednesday. We didn’t realise they had stolen anything until Thursday, but we have CCTV of them taking products. The thing is, it isn’t just our shop they have stolen from.We are now aware of several model shops being affected, including Cheltenham, Durham Trains, Footplate (Kidderminster), The Goods Yard (Tuxford), TigerTaz Models and Roundhouse Engineering (Doncaster). They had been asked to leave AGR Models before they could take anything. They aren’t only targeting model railways. I understand that a shop in Chester-le-street had radio control equipment and models stolen. With that in mind, I am hoping that as you have the most comprehensive directory of all types of model shop, you might be able to alert as many owners as possible to be vigilant as this couple appear to be touring the country. It is worth noting that they are currently driving a silver LHD Peugeot 407SW (Estate) with continental plates, English is not their first language. We had a visit late Wednesday afternoon (4.03.20) by this couple. The woman took a DCC Concepts Cobalt Alpha Central priced at £129.95 & a Hornby Brighton Belle Coach Pack priced at £162.00. She went behind the counter & took them while he kept watch as we were busy with other customers in the shop. The police have been informed but please do share this as we have just heard that they have stolen from 2 other model shops, as well as Model Railway Shows. Also, they do change their appearance as we have seen the photos from the other retailers but they are easy to recognise." So please be vigilant and might be an idea to print off the images for display in your shop or at least make all your staff aware of these people. Please note I am sending this email as a complete one off. I very, very rarely send out any bulk emails except for the regular biennial update reminder. So there is no need for any unsubscriptions as it is unlikely I will use this again soon. Best Regards, Adrian Hall
  14. ***ALL MODEL RAILWAY SHOPS & SHOWS BE AWARE*** A couple seem to be going up & down the country stealing model railway items from various shops. Shop's that have been known to of been hit - Durham Trains Tigertaz Models Footplate Roundhouse Models Trains4U AGR Rails of Sheffield The Goods Yard If you see them ask them to leave or watch them / call the police. If you know who the people pictured are please contact us on 101, quoting CRI00249965 as the crime reference number and PC 2989 Hagar as the investigating officer ( Photos shared from Durham Trains/ Train4U & Roundhosue Thank you )
  15. All got to try and make living. This just so happens to be the one product a year that seems to go mental prices, only doing what 99% of rest of RMWEB would do. We've already had phone calls abusing staff about this & the price, seems a shame really the lengths people are going to.
  16. Just a quick 2020 update, Along time coming finally have my own place / hoping to find the time setup Whitby in years to come. No real new updates, I have had few weathered locos finished & sound fits done so now moving on to the rolling stock while I 'do up' the house as it was left in state by the last owner. Hopefully in month or so I might start something ... Watch this space
  17. Indeed I know, Was hoping on the off chance that someone who has a finished model might want to sell.
  18. What it's worth or what the miss's think's it's worth.
