I don't think I've seen a tail-dragging jet before.

Talking about missing buffers..... apologies if you are already aware of this..... but the buffer beams are not straight and they should be. A replacement beam with cast buffers sorts that out. As far as detailing goes.... how far do you want to go? Replacing handrails with 0.3 wire. Lowering the AC units. Reducing the gangway length. The gangway doors could do with some attention. Replacement bogies (Replica). Shawplan windows. Plenty to keep you out of mischief.

Not sure how they could have made it much simpler. Doors moulded in place perhaps but much better without.

Oh and your second point...(sorry another pun)... I think IIRC you need to add another sleeper at the switch end - but I'm not quite so sure about this.

Nope the webs are off the rail centers,,, follow the plan and you will be on track.... sorry bad pun

SVC layout has been in the model press... I believe both BRM and RM but not 100% percent sure??? but it's definitely had exposure... but your are correct as it has been around for more than a couple of years (probably nearer 3,4 or 5).
Edit - (According to SVC website extant since 2008)

Looks good doesn't it - I too will be heavily influenced by your work but wouldn't solid plastic section be cheaper than the 'H' section extrusion that your'e using? You shouldn't be able to tell the difference with a 'lid' on - Just a thought.

Believe it or not, it's superglue, but it's the stuff used in hospitals for gluing together deep cuts instead of stitches. It was a sample packet that I acquired years ago, I found it the other week and thought I'd try using it to stick stuff together. I guess it could be quite useful in the case of emergency too!
As an aside, I continue to be amazed by the depth of field of compact cameras - it makes the junk behind my bench far too visible! I think I'll have to rig up some sort of screen next time
That would just spoil the fun

I see you have the usual display of household modelling items...
talc - check
sewing machine oil - check
Chilli - what's that for.?.
PS oh and nice unit body by the way - lovely B)

I do love the old BBC English style of speaking!

That would be the RP Mr. Cholmondley-Warner
Great clip though.

Ratio?
... do you mean Replica?
either way I'm looking forward to seeing a 'toothpaste' duff... I have never been keen on early NWSE on 47's... I think the later style suited them better... but that's just my opinion - whatever your choice I shall be looking with interest.

Excellent work there Mr. Pugley... further to your comment to the sanding sticks - I think 'squadrons' sanding sticks are the bees knees too but might I add (I got this recommendation from a talented aero/railway modeller who is a wizz with plastic - sorry Paul if you're reading this) the products from 'flexifile' - they do sanding sticks like 'squadrons' but the flexifile itself is a natty abrasive strip held in a metal frame which is great for sanding off curves - you probably wouldn't need it on this model but once used never forgotten.

Nice... I like the oily, faded, mucky, worn and generally unkempt feel of your work... if it were a horse I'd report you to the RSPCA!
