  1. I'm a fan of the smoke too. Many think it's too thin to be realistic, which is true, but I say no smoke is even less realistic! Besides you'd soon not be able to breath if it had prototypical volumes of smoke!
  2. This one may be of interest. It's a Bachmann US budget sound loco, maybe an indication of what the UK market may get with the budget sound range coming sometime. It's pretty basic, just a few sounds, bell, a couple of student whistle lengths and a cylinder blow down really. No programming ability which is a little annoying as the chuffs are out of sync with the wheel revolutions which is something I would want to fix. The loco itself is also a bit basic, also from the budget range. It's a bit of a generic loco, there is no PRR prototype of this kind. Having said that it cost me $99 a couple of years back so a bargain really.
  3. Last one for now. MTH again, a New York Central Mohawk. All of these models have synchronized smoke, the MTH smoke generators seem to produce a thicker plume that the BLIs. At the end of this video I raised the camera up to show the smoke better. This loco can blow smoke rings!
  4. Different manufacturer now (MTH). This is a Norfolk and Western J Class loco.
  5. This is a Pennsylvania Railroad K4s pacific, again by Broadway Limited Imports.
  6. Ok, now we've figured this video posting, this is a Broadway Limited Imports New York Central Dreyfuss Hudson, in 1938 livery. These hailed the famous 20th Century Limited train.
  7. Well what do you know, it worked! Thanks!
  8. Hi Bob Thanks, that's what I did with the video in the L & Y R thread and it just gave the link to the you tube page. I'll try it again in this post.
  9. Hi Bob Thanks, yes that's what I'm doing. In You tube below the video I'm clicking share, then embed and selecting the code that appears in the box, copying and pasting straight into the post. This seems to be how you tube instructs you to do it, is there different there to how you do it? Thanks Dan
  10. Ok, I've tried all sorts of things and I just can't seem to get this video to embed! Where am I going wrong? I've tried it in internet explorer, firefox, new code, old code. It just pastes the code and no video appears. Help!!
  11. Hi everyone, I'm a Brit in the US, as those who have read the thread on the Bachmann L & Y R I just installed sound in will know. Being in the US it's hard to resist dabbling in US model trains just for some variety. Thought I'd make a couple of videos of some of my collection just to give a flavour for what US modelers have available. This first is one of my favourites. The loco is preserved and does to railfan excursions. The model manufacturer, Broadway Limited Imports, includes some interesting sound effects which I play at the end of the video. Hope you enjoy (and I hope this works!). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/hmde2bFiaec" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
