Love this. 28/07/86 was my 13th birthday, and about a mile and a half from where this photo was taken, up on Firthview Road I would soon wake up to find a Hornby Class 47 (BR blue 47568) as a present from my parents. Happy days.
I just remember Seagulls at 04:45 the sun was just coming up and the Seagulls seemed to be going crazy..
Other moves from the day were
37262 INVERNESS to ABERDEEN
04:55 INVERNESS - ABERDEEN 1A42
37262 ABERDEEN to INVERNESS
07:35 ABERDEEN - INVERNESS1H25
47454 INVERNESS to PERTH
11:00 INVERNESS - CARSTAIRS 1C84
27014 PERTH To GLASGOW QUEEN STREET
13:50 PERTH - GLASGOW QUEEN STREET 1T24
86241 GLASGOW CENTRAL to CARLISLE
17:20 GLASGOW CENTRAL - BIRMINGHAM 1M47
Happy Days

Just looking through the class 33 photos and was wondering why a lot of them had a big dent above the coupling was there a particular reason for this or just through coupling use in that area?

I don't have any roof shots of D200, I've still a few side shots left.
D200 coming to the rescue of a steam special
Ray
I was on that Date was 22/03/1986
40122 + 44767 at Carlisle with 1Z10 Carlisle - Kilmarnock BR Special "The Nith Valley Express" I believe this was BR cashing in on a move to get the Steam loco to Scotland.
40122 piloted 44767 under the wires to Annan where 44767 worked to Kilmarnock then 40122 worked the train back to Carlisle.
