  1. Thanks for the support Robert, Mr Tilt mainly works in N gauge so it needs to be done lol.
  2. A quick video of the early prototype being tested on Mel Jardines layout, thanks Mel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGUtwkToKqY&feature=youtu.be Enjoy Paul
  3. Not really sure about price, as I haven't worked out the costs yet, wheel sets being the most expensive item, but its looking at around £50-£60 (Ball park), I would say. I will give a more accurate price when the design is complete. Thanks for your interest. Paul
  4. Hi All, I have started work on a POP 1 3d printed model kit, and will post on here progress reports. Kit will be available for purchase hopefully when I am happy with the model. My name is Paul Leadley and I setup and run the APT-E Conservation & Support Group which have been slowly restoring APT-E since the year 2000. Mr Tilt (Kit Spackman) of APT-E and RMweb fame is also involved in the models design, so it should be pretty close to the real thing. Model is currently 00 but I also plan to do an "N" gauge kit if possible, spy glass at the ready. Post any questions or ideas and lets see what we end up with. Long live the APT. Paul Last two photos are of a very early prototype running on a friends (Mel Jardines brilliant layout), proof of concept really. Still lots to do, and improve...... Video is of the early prototypes first ever run :- short but sweet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYQ3D8hX9f0
  5. Hi All, After a time away from the forum, its nice to see that plenty of chat is still being generated about the E train model. Once I get my 3d printer sorted, I think I may have a crack at a POP train, god help me!! Paul APT-E Conservation & Support Group
  6. That's brilliant new guys, looks just fantastic. Great job all round everyone. Paul APT-E Conservation & Support Group.
  7. They were also worried about an object hitting the screen at 150+, hence the frozen chicken tests , LOL.
  8. Thanks the two members on this forum, who sent me abusive emails. I'm leaving this forum now.
  9. Now that's cool Keith, heard of it, but never seen it done. Best of both worlds.
  10. For something that was a little joke video, its been taken too seriously. Just goes to prove you cannot make all people laugh. Enough said on this topic.......
  11. HAHA, I hope so Andy, never really did got the chance to say thank you for our Italian, and to speak with you. I really like the interview with Kit and myself and David, well done.
  12. lol, E train came first, K9 appeared first when Tom Baker was the doctor, Im sure Jason can give us the exact date......
  13. Well the real thing is 277 feet long, so you should be able to work it out from that.
  14. Hi Rob, It was a total fluke, I was waiting to go into the museum, but ended up watching the trains from York station for a long time. I had never even heard of E train ,as I was only 9 years old. The first of many flukes, when it comes to E train, the next one was when Kit got in contact. Paul
  15. E trains last powered trip to York, the day I saw her for the first time and it changed my life. Ive got E train in my bloody now. LOL!!!! Interesting that both power cars only have one wiper, normally PC1 had 2, PC2 had 1.
  16. Here is the other BTF about E train, and the best of the time. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f16_1314673094 Enjoy
  17. During the run up to the scan party, Gavin one of the E train group snapped Kit, with his original headset on, at Tilt control in TC2, roll back about 40 years, lol.
  18. The truck uses the same single engine that E train uses, but of course E train has 10 of them, nice!!
  19. Here is the other picture that Mr Tilt was talking about taken at Beeston.
  20. Mr Tilt, don't we have one picture of E train taken from the side of the powercar at Beeston?
  21. Hi, It actually sound more like a large scale airliner than a small jet, there are a few clips of film where you can hear it, but they are sadly few and far between. Thunderbird 2 wouldn't be too far away from the real thing(ish)!!!
  22. Hi Everyone, Just thourght I would introduce myself, I am Paul Leadley, and I set-up and run the APT-E Conservation & Support Group (lol Jason, can you say it yet!!). If anyone has any questions about E train, please feel free. I would also like to say, what a great few days we have had up at Shildon, very inpressed with the turn out, and the questions people asked about E train and the APT project as a whole. I am also very glad to see that very many of you have already placed orders, great stuff. It was great meeting you all, and thanks again for the really nice Italian on Monday night. Regards Paul APT-E Conservation & Support Group.
