  1. Imagine a 14 coach APT-P with full sound ie a speaker in each vehicle. To give noise of - tilt and brake pumps in all coaches air conditioning stage two cooling in all passenger ones horns and DA set (in case of towing etc) in the DTS compressor and MA set in TBF everything noisy in the power cars including fans blowers motors pumps etc Most of this could be recorded at Crewe with the exception of the traction motors and MA set Sounds good to me! Come on Jason I know you want to produce the finest model possible! Rob www.apt-p.com
  2. Hi Jason 12 inch : 1 foot scale APT-P I'll sponsor you a pound for that! Rob www.APT-P.com
  3. E-Train was already in the Museum at York in 1976 this was before the P-Trains were completed. Rob www.APT-P.com
  4. British railway modelling magazine for Aug 2014 contains an article on E-Train and the Rapido model Rob www.APT-P.com
  5. Hi Paul DON'T GO !! - without YOU we probably wouldn't have an E-Train left for Rapido to have scanned and produce this model from. The Talking APT-E video was great - the best one you've done so far... Rob www.APT-P.com
  6. Hi Kit I have uploaded a better scan of that picture at St Pancras now... Some P-Trains also had holes for a lamp iron or a NOT TO BE MOVED sign, in addition to the ones that were hidden under the nose cone. DTS 48103 still had the oil lamp in a cupboard in the cab when it arrived at CHC in 1988. Rob www.APT-P.com
  7. Here is another view of the probe on E-Train... (Edited 15:40 with a better scan) Rob www.APT-P.com
  8. Hi Kit I have tracked down where I read about the addition of the Bolster Clamp mechanism, and then the later addition of the Tilt Fault Detection Unit. They were both modifications to the P-Trains. (I was right (for a change !!!)) Rob www.APT-P.com
  9. Hi Paul did you know E-Train was going to the NRM that day or was it pure luck or fate that you chose the day to go train watching? Rob www.APT-P.com
  10. Kit perhaps I was wrong about it being added later? I was sure I'd read it but I need to find out where. The P-Train trailer cars have a cable in a tube running from that mcb to a handle hidden under a cut out in the carpet in the passenger compartment that when pulled would reset the mcb to save stopping the train and undoing the underfloor tilt pack. There is a sticker on the luggage rack that says TFDU to show where this handle is hidden! The mcb tripping just killed all the power to that tilt pack, pumps the lot, rather than switching to another backup channel. Anyhow this is rather going off the topic of E-Train models! Also it'll be of no interest to 99.999% of readers of this forum!! Rob
  11. Hi Kit all the vehicles at The Railway Age had the bolster clamp on them - I don't remember seeing or reading (there is NO mention in CT60) about a large locking pin however I may not have noticed a hole - will take a look next time I go to CHC. Sorry for this off topic conversation but I feel that I had to reply ! Rob www.APT-P.com PS I have already ordered my E-Train model
  12. P-Train also was later (not sure when) fitted with a Tilt Failure Detection box see attached... This would deal with any hard over failures. Rob www.APT-P.com
  13. Hi Kit P-Train was later fitted with a hydraulically operated bolster clamp ratchet thingy see attached scan taken from from CT60 Rob www.APT-P.com
  14. Hi I just googled APT-E & K9 and this came up - sorry if it's already been posted it was from another thread... Rob www.APT-P.com
  15. Now that would be something I'd be interested in a full 14 vehicle APT-P Rob www.APT-P.com
