  1. It was a really enjoyable evening, with plenty of great photos and chat, as you'd expect, Mick was on his useful form!!

Great news that you've been invited back for next year and I'm sure you already have plenty of material without having to scout ebay for even more material!

Sorry that you can't make it to Donny, but thanks very much for an enjoyable evening,

    Cheers

  2. Yes, buried somewhere in one of the many Peco threads, it was stated that a new Bullhead point is dimensionally a straight swap for an existing large radius Code 75 flatbottom point. In that case, the existing Peco template for the flatbottom point can be used when planning for bullhead. If the templates match, that could be a reason for no new templates on the Peco website?

I haven't bought any yet, on Christmas list, but are the timbers the same on the BH as on the FB?

  3. Hi Folks,

has anyone tried to hack the points to reduce the track centres?

I'd rather try with the PDF templates from Peco first to get the cuts correct, rather than the real thing, but it would appear the templates haven't been uploaded to the Peco website yet,

    Thanks

  4. I'm also looking at modelling the same area and have found it difficult to find information, especially photos of the mid-sixties era.  One book that maybe useful is 'A History of the Hull and Scarborough Railway', I can't remember whether it contained scale diagrams of the station or not, but there are quite a few useful books available from Beverley library, and if they don't have it there, if it's at another local library, you can order it through the East Riding CC website and get it sent to another library, a really cheap way of getting useful information without having to spend lot of money, some of the books also have track diagrams as well.

I know that Mick has many useful and excellent photos of Beverley, especially from Cherry Tree lane end but I'm not sure if he has any from further north.  I'm also looking for more photos from the goods yard and cattle dock at Beverley, but without much look,

  5.  I can't really help with locomotives etc, I lost interest when steam finished. Look out for a copy "More Illustrated History of Hull's Railways" it's still in print, this gives a complete allocation of all engines shedded at Hull 1922 onwards.

I can help with station layouts, signalling diagrams and photographs etc, just ask

Excellent talk on Tuesday Mick, for anyone who didn't go, some superb photos of Hull and surrounding areas, thanks for the offer Mick, I'll drop you a PM with email address

  6. From Paragon you would be looking at the usual array of local DMUs ( Cravens, Birminghams, Met-Camms and TPs from BG, then 55H,55F and 40A units) Brush2s Type 3s, EE type 4s and Hawker Siddley Type 4s. Peaks did make the odd appearance with the Brush variety been common at one time, Cromptons made an appearance around 1970 on driver training turns either LE or 2035 Leeds parcels. The York parcels turns could turn up with anything from a Sulzer 2 to a Hawker Siddley 4.

    Al Taylor.

Thanks very much Al, that's brilliant and will certainly allow me a lot of variety, will just have to wait for someone to produce a TP unit

  7. Andy, what exactly are you looking for?

    Hi Mick,

I'm looking at producing a layout loosely based on Hull, from 1965-1975, I can get most of the required info from WTTs, but I'm trying to find which specific diesels were used on the non-DMU services to allow realistic running. There are a large number of photos from the 1970's which allow identification, but there seems to be a lack of photos from 1965-70, apart from the standard 37's based at Dairycoates

  8. What time frame are you looking at Simon? I have copies of my brothers records which cover roughly 1963 - 1967, I can offer quite a lot of info from 1967 to the mid 70's.

Can't guarantee any great gems but happy to look through and see what I can find.

    Regards

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

I'd be very interested to see what you could find, I'm looking at a layout loosely based around Hull, but trying to find information for 1965-1970 is a little bit hit and miss,

    Thanks

    Andy
