Barrowroad......waht's happened to your model, I was following it, but nothing has been posted for a while?
Sorry for thread hijack.

Ah..........Great Northern. One of my favourite locos, often to be seen on shed at Donny when we went, it was a Doncaster loco by the early 60's.
My favourite pic of it is in the Book LNER Steam in colour, taken at Donny, the light is perfect.
It can be found on this site, I hope I'm OK posting a link to it here?

Firstly, has anyone done anything towards the correction of the nose grilles in order to produce a decent two-tone green? Replacement etches?
Secondly............picture six, Brian...........those buffers make me feel seasick! They are every which way. They scream, "Toy! It's a toy!"

An Immingham Loco for a long time, Mayflower was common round here, being dubbed "a local tram".

I always had a soft spot for Jubilees. In later years, they used to turn up on freights from the Leed area to Frodingham..........cue mass influx of spotters to the local shed. A very nice looking loco.
They were about the only green engines we saw, apart from a couple of years when Britannias hauled the 1930 ex Cleethorpes to Doncaster.
And once a Patriot visted........but wouldn't you know it, one of the un-named ones.

Sorry, but the thickness of those buffer-heads spoils it for me, as does the way they aren't level.

Following this with interest.
I REALLY hope something will be done with the horrid plastic buffers that just scream "toy!" ??

That was going to be my suggestion...........
Errrr.......I'll get me coat.

I've seen 08's with oval buffers, and even remember one at Frodingham having an Oleo set at one end, but they were removed before I got a pic.
