bye the way, congrats to the Captain on 15,000 posts (all of substance).
Edit:
15,001...

Come to think of it, are any of you esteemed gentlemen coming to our curry night?
I'd love to but I don't think the Maid and I would get there in time...
-
... a cross-country non-corridor Lav 3 set.
Seconded!
-
Conygar Tower - I have made my mark on that on many an afternoon stroll!
(Apologies to the Luttrells).
Whilst staying here

That old bag could be sawn off and be replaced by something more realistic and the correct length.
ooh err Mrs!

I can remember being in Radstock signal box when it was in use, way back when.
I was about 5 at the time.
-
Probably mentioned here many times but the Southern L1 and Q classes would be nice - certainly is time that Hornby updated that Tri-ang L1; wonder if they're keen?

A Maunsell Q - yes please!

What a pity if it is dead. From the GW perspective, it gave better coverage overall than Comet; the two ranges overlap, but there's stuff in each not covered by the other.
Thanks, Tim. In fact, the 7 I have are pretty much all from Ebay. I hadn't been able to find the missing 3, but I'll have a look.
Ebay is now the only supply of Phoenix kits I'm afraid. Worth saving a search and getting emailed when something turns up.
ALL IRONCLADS ON EBAY ARE MINE!
-
Hmm,
Have all but 3 of the 10-coach Centenary set (for the benefit of any Godless Heathens amongst us, that's the coaches built in 1935 (the Great Western's Centenary year) for the Cornish Riviera Limited). Emailed last year. Not even the courtesy of a response.
Various other Colletts, e.g. B-Set wanted. Hmph. Wanted 11-coach Riviera set too (the 1929 set for the Limited). Hatton's Kings likely to find themselves seriously under-employed at this rate. Thought about some Ironclads for my T9. Really, there is quite a lot in that range that could tempt me.
BUT, will try again based upon Tim Dubya's information. Not holding my breath, mind you.
Try ebay, I think I saw some the other day (I know nothing about GWR stock, so please excuse if I'm wrong).
Cheers

That may never happen. If the whole Phoenix operation is a bit of a mess, who'd want to take it on?
Fair comment.
I don't think one could make a living from it but it might work if it were incorporated into other range(s).
Maybe like Blacksmith and Coopercraft

I believe CK-T is a member here, but under another name, like most of us.
he is chris45lsw on here.
Good luck, I still email trying to get a definitive answer to "when will my order be processed", but have thus far been ignored after my last couple of attempts (courtesy costs nothing in my book!).
SRG are still actively promoting Phoenix kits, (this is from the site today):
"The Group also produces the 'Phoenix' range of coaching stock kits for modellers working in 4mm scale, and has an active Sales operation, which whilst catering for the Southern modeller also includes many kits and components for the GW, LMS, LNER and BR modeller".
As I have mentioned previously, Chris has had a terrible year, but the fact remains that SRG are still offering the Phoenix range for sale and encouraging new members. I persevere because I want the kits but I'm now am feeling increasingly frustrated and in a way conned by SRG.
Time to sell Phoenix on?
Cheers

Of course pre-medicating on Omeprazole is essential!
Sign of a good pasty that.

Steady CK, sounds like you're going vege.
(Linda McCartney sausages contain no Linda McCartney or any other kind of meat, so don't be fooled like I was).

How anyone could nickname a class of engine built by Hunslet, North British, Bagnall, Vulcan Foundry, Beardmore and Horwich a Bagnall defeats all logic. Which part of the country bestowed this peculiar nickname? (I can guess but I'm saying now't).
I never heard the LMS 3F 0-6-0T's called anything other than Jinty's, not that it matters.
All the enginemen out of Radstock (S&D) shed.
They also had their "Dazzlers" ,(these being from an industrial loco builder - no idea which one - Kerr Stuart possibly?) simply because they were kept shiny!
edit: To add links, one with a Bagnall on it (from unravelled's excellent S&DJR Scans thread)

Jinty, wos one a they?
Thems Bagnalls where I's from!

Where is this referenced?
From the Oxford Rail website:
(LSWR, not Southern)
From Antics via Google.
Cheers
edit: OOPS, just read the small print and yes it's LSWR
-
Apologies in advance for the seemingly daft question but would that have run with the coaches noted above (Hornby R4717 and R4719)? or are they the wrong green?
Yes they are SR livery coaches so would have run with the Oxford Radial in SR livery.
-
So wartime would be early crest - would the green coaches as Hornby R4717 and R4719 for a third comp and third brake, plus R3333 BR early crest, be the combination I'm looking for?
I predict a rush on Buffers limited edition local wagons too...
No, wartime would be "Southern", BR didn't exist until 1948.
Can't see a Hornby SR (Southern Railway) livery Radial though (as opposed to the BR Southern REGION / BR{S} liveries in the guises of R3333 BR early crest / R3334 BR late crest) .
Cheers

There'll be no pub for me tonight, but the idea of fish and chips is very tempting.
I went to a pub once... but definitely didn't get away with it.
BURP!
-
I still have a pack of four mini-pork pies in the fridge. I can't decide whether to have them for tea with some salad, or whether to try to persuade CTMK to indulge in fish and chips.
I'd go the fish and chips route and keep the pies for an emergency. (such as an after the after pub type emergency)

Today I had a sandwich on the train for my lunch.
It was probably suitable for vegetarians.
but was it a train sandwich?
