Does anybody know what design of water crane this model is based on? Something in the back of my mind makes me think it’s a BR design as I’m looking for cranes suitable for a 1950’s based London Midland region shed scene
What Epoxy are people using? I’ve been using JB weld quick setting which does go off in 5 minutes but seems never to go really hard I seem to remember that Araldite use to set solid and you could drill and tap it! This stuff always seems slightly soft.
Does anybody know of a source of 12BA screws longer than 1/2” ? I can’t find anybody who seems to do anything longer, the only source I’ve come across is eBay but the minimum quantity is 100 and I only need 12. Any help gratefully appreciated!!
Didn’t want to bond the parts I was just going to use it to buildup some damage it does appear to work okay although the usual soldering rules apply make sure the surface is mechanically and chemically clean use the correct flux (Carrs green label) and a low wattage iron. I would normally use ultra fine car body filler but it doesn’t always bond that well on a corner I find that solder works better.
John I see that your model is liveried are these your own transfers for this model ? If so are they available? As I can’t seem to find any appropriate transfers anyway for the Hornby dublo model.
John have you got any photos of the gearing and pulley arrangements that you fitted to your conversion? I can’t seem to find any decent photos online any pictures or information would be gratefully appreciated
Thanks Ian
