  1. This question always creates lots of debate. No harm in that. My response is. See if you can get hands on experience. Digitrax of Lincoln have a dedicated layout with most but not all DCC Control systems. You can play with them all, and get good advice. Good Luck.
  2. Of course you can link another 511 to any ZTC Controller. There is another way witch you may find more useful. Have a 622 remote handset, I do, If your arm wont stretch back to the 611 that is if you see what I mean. I note that Nigel Cliffe makes comment, Moving On? Not another ZTC Knocker are you Nigel.
  3. I have a Hornby A4 Body that has the lubricator arm attached. I have a suitable chassis to go with it, Except. the right hand rear wheel does not have the correct crankpin. I do have a suitable spare wheel. I have a puller to get the wheel off, But how can i be sure that the quartering will be correct. Help Appreciated. Mel.
  4. No joy yet. The motor is good. Power is not getting to the motor via the wheels.
  5. Thank you both for your replies. As soon as I get a result I will report back. Regards.
  6. This is a DCC Ready locomotive. Won't run on DC or DCC. With a multi meter how would I go about tracing the fault. Regards'.
  7. I need to service a Bacmann Class 55 Deltic. But how ? I notice there are screws holding the PCB in place. Plus two more just inside the bogies at each end. Am i correct that to gain access to the motor and gears these have to be removed. Thanks.
  8. Haven't a clue as to what's going on. But, I think it would be a good idea if you can try to run the layout with a different system if you can. You are to far away to loan mine, but don't give up.
  9. Had a similar problem myself. Cured it by fitting a pair of Bus Suppressors. DCC Concepts have them ready made. Cheap as chips. Good luck.
  10. I no longer have tender drives. But when i did this is how i did it. I removed the brush holder completely and replaced it with an older type that did not have the screw type brush & spring retainer.Work fine.
  11. I have one of these. But am concerned that the the rotating axle boxes keep falling out. Have lost a few already. Are they available as a spare part. Or any way to keep them in place.?
  12. Johnb. Thanks for your reply. Food for thought. Not a fan of kds. See if anyone has other ideas. Mel.
  13. I am looking to buy some Lima coaches. But they have the old large tension locks. Probably not with nem pockets. Any options you guys know of to modify. Thanks.
  14. Hobbo. There's plenty of comments here for you to digest i won't add to it. Except to say Hands On is your best option. Trouble is where. Digitrains of Lincoln have a dedicated demo layout for you to play with. I dont know of any others. Digitrains attend all major shows. But difficult to discuss DCC what with all the surrounding show noise. Good Luck.
  15. My problem was getting the geometry right of track over the hinge side of my access lifting flap. And its on a curve. First attempt using two pieces of track didn't work. So using a new length of flexi I got it set right and pinned in place. I need to cut across this join without lifting the track to do it otherwise i will be back where I started. I have a vertical track cutter not sure that will do it. I have dremel. I dont think I could use a razor saw, no room. Any ideas any one.
  16. Hi.A few are ZTC 302s. The rest are Gaugemaster GMC-PM10D. The 302s have a button to put it in address mode. The Gaugemaster have similar. ( A switch bit like DCC Concepts.
  17. Does any one know if you can program and operate a digital point motor with its address and operate a point using the key pad without the use of an accessory decoder ?
  18. Anyone advise me on which of these gives 2nd radius curve that manufactures state there minimum to which this locomotive will run. Thank You.
  19. Sorry Robert Got it wrong. Its not a Brit. Its 71000 Duke of Gloucester. If you have info on that I would be grateful.
  20. I have a Hornby Britannia class loco with sound. The wires connecting the loco to tender need replacing. I cant see how to remove the tender top. Help Please.
  21. For what ta worth. I have used a pair of these for awhile now. All I can say it cured the runaways I was getting.
  22. You've also been unsucessful in posting without turning bold text on. Knock it off, there's no need to shout. We're here to help. It would help us if you could say which specific items of rolling stock you are having trouble with. That way people can be more specific in their replies. Thanks.
