Thanks Andy! Glad my novice level bumbling along is proving interesting.
I like looking at all small layouts. Most of my layouts start off on a 4ft x 1ft baseboard.-

I have just found this thread and have found it very interesting. I look forward to following further progress.

Further new items are arriving from Hornby in the early part of the week. These include all four liveries of the new Mk1 RB Restaurant Buffet car. The range of GNR and GWR four and six wheel coaches are also arriving.

You think Liverpool have problems....
I have no idea what Spurs are up to right now. Wish I was facing a multi million pay off. I’m sure it will soften the blow, but I doubt Levy will let The Special One go.....
At least Bale eventually got a chance and did well. Even Kane and Son gave a fraction of what they are capable of......
Spurs have huge problems. With a squad that includes the attacking quality and creativity of Son, Ali, Bale and Kane should be making huge inroads into the top four. It appears that Mourinho has fallen out with two of the quartet and the team seems to be devoid of confidence and motivation. I feel Jose's days have got to be numbered.

I bet Klopp is running out of volunteers to play center of defence as it's a surefire way to guarantee a serious injury! The position is definitely jinxed.
Is strange that he had a new £2 million centre back on the bench, but put a youngster on instead. I wonder if Ben Davies wishes he stayed at Preston.

If my garage was empty I would have snapped it up! Sadly, it is full of accumulated junk.

Morning all, I was definitely an early riser today. The early roll out of bed was planned so that I could clear the few adult education assignments from my marking inbox before the girls woke up. Although today is technically my last "day off", a few assignments have dropped into my virtual marking tray that no-one else is able to sort. One essay in particular, a drama based study, is one that on-one else on the team is capable of marking. There have been five of them coming through during what should have been a week off. The "joys" of seemingly being "indispensable". The irony is that the essay requires the study of a play called "Permission to Cry" and it seems very apt because they are my feelings whenever it appears in my marking tray. It is a shocker of an assignment and students very rarely grasp it first time around. One day I may get permission from the powers that be to actually access the system and change it so that the instructions and course materials are clearer. It was the subject of a virtual team meeting a few months ago so I live in hope.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all well. Special thoughts to those in our number who have experienced the difficulties brought about by the harsh weather in the US. I have not seen much on the news (but I have been avoiding the news as much as possible recently), but I know enough to understand how harsh it has been. Ironically some of my understanding of the situation has come from Instagram of all places. These days I tend to use social media for promoting the business. However, I confess to "following" a few of my celebratory "crushes" via this particular platform. One particular film and tv actress lives in Texas and has been posting photos and updates of the weather. It does sound horrific and I hope that those caught up this situation stay safe and warm.
Today will see the daily exercise combined with posting Sarah's notorious Avon books. There may be a drive out to do a contactless delivery to a customer although that may hold off until tomorrow because they are in no rush. I would like to find time for some modelling on the new / revived / continuing project.
Stay safe
Andy

They might get them fitted again in time to win the European Cup, again. Didn't they do it before when Everton finished above them in the league.
Well they can't win anything else this season. It is a shame actually, because I do love the way Klopp has them playing and he is such a likeable manager. I do hope he can turn it around. Good to see Everton doing so well too.

Thanks Andy, I'm still working on the Videos.
I have No's 75 to 81 to finish editing and then they will be up loaded on to You Tube, one at a time every few days, so I have about 6 or 7 weeks worth and some things will be quite a bit different in a couple so far.
I will look forward to them. Good to see you enjoying running this one.

Without wanting to stereotype Scousers. I have to ask - has Klopp left his car and the team bus in some dodgy area of Merseyside? The wheels have definitely come off!

Hi Rob,
Any chance of a video walk round of the layout. It would be interesting to see how you have fitted all these stations in and where they are placed in relation to each other.
Cheers
David
I would echo this post. I love the pics but would love to see how all of the locations fit together in the layout.

I would like to fix the track tomorrow. There is one more thing I would like to check first and that is if my planned station building will fit the intended space. I am having some doubts. That may mean pulling the track forward slightly to create the room or choosing a slightly smaller building depending on how it all fits together. Unfortunately, the planned building is currently stored in the back of the shop. It was taken up there with the baseboard when I relocated it for storage and I have forgotten to bring it back. Further progress may have to wait until Monday when I go over for the delivery. Unless, of course, I am required for any click and collect customers tomorrow!

Evening all. I hope today finds you well. It was good to put some faces to some of the names during the Zoom meeting earlier. I am sorry I had to disappear so suddenly. My dear daughter was demanding my time and was not prepared to wait!
Today has been mixed. This morning there was the drive up to the shop for the click and customer. This became two appointments thanks to a phone enquiry whilst I was still there. Amber enjoyed wielding the pricing gun and more stock is now on the shelves and out of the house. That should please Sarah who is getting more than a little frustrated by the stock boxes currently stored in the house.
Partly during the Zoom meeting, and then immediately after, there was some test running of the new layout project. This was one of the things Amber was pestering me about this afternoon. The basic idea for the model is coming together. I have put a couple of photos on my layout thread if anyone is interested.
Sarah may be feeling better but the lack of sleep in recent nights has had a negative impact and she is suffering her own low mood. Lockdown is definitely impacting us all at the moment.
Stay safe all.
Andy

Today has seen some test running. I was concerned whether the four successive points, leading from the loco release and through the loop, would cause some running issues. I started off with running one of the new Hornby Terriers over the whole track. It ran with no issues, crossing all of the points with no major issues. There was tightness in the running but, since it was the first time the loco had left the box, I think it was more a loco issue than anything else.
I then pressed some of regular Skaleby West stock into the use running the various locos over all the track. The Jinty, the smallest of the loco stock, ran over the track with no issues. The paintwork proving no issues with the smoothness of the running. The larger Standard 3 tank also negotiated the points with no problem including running from the loco storage siding through to the nearest siding of the goods yard.
The goods yard sidings are both, as expected, big enough to take three regular sized wagons. The loco release for the platform loop is large enough for even the largest tank engine. It is slightly too short for the Midland 3F but it is so tight I might be able to buy the extra few millimetres to allow it to be used. Her are some pictures from today. Firstly, the Jinty sits in the loco release. The vent vans sit in the nearest of the two goods sidings.
The second photo shows a more general overview of the model with the standard two coach train comfortably inside the station loop.

I remember seeing this when I visited Andy in TOPS before he moved. It was a lovely looking layout. Interesting to see the pics do not show the buildings etc. A bargain price too.

Just happened across this thread and have to say “wow”. What a stunning model. I will follow with interest and hope to see more pictures soon. I love the attention to detail.
