  1. You`re not pregnant, are you?
  2. I`ve found it interesting to consider the research discussed in the news this week, concerning the abilities of Ovis to recognise human faces; an ability, well known to we dog people and also those with close personal experience of other species too; for, I`d assert that animals and humans share very-much in common; hopefulness, anxiety, affection, jealousy, loneliness, faithfulness, belonging and kinship. .......and, if {like I} you`d ever visited an abattoir where pigs were being 'processed'; you`d surely know that animals can exhibit sentience........ It would seem that science is only now, beginning to catch up with what has been 'known' for millennia. Failure to recognise animals as the unique, intelligent, and 'feeling' individual beings that they are, would seem to debase our 'humanimality' somewhat. http://rsos.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/4/11/171228
  3. You would have to go and spoil it, wouldn`t you!
  4. "The mysterious case of the ambulance in the night" .....that`s a novel idea to feel entitled!
  5. Passepartout is {reassuringly} all around me...... My Sunday, 'best-foot forward' apparel, includes a pair of highly patterned Palazzo trousers, which John always teased me about, saying they looked like I was wearing a pair of cheap curtains...... and perhaps I ought to: "pull myself together". Looking down just now, I see `he may have had a point.....
  6. ....is that some kind of mandate; or, are you just pleased to see me?
  7. .......but, the two percent is where one`s overactive imagination is drawn!
  8. I would like to say a sincere thank you, to the many E.R`s who`ve supported John and I throughout John`s protracted illness; your kind thoughts, prayers and good wishes, have been a great source of hope and comfort. Debs.
  9. Might it be vestibular disease, Tony? ......if there`s any decent cheese on the go; we`ll pop in to be given our meds, shall we?
  10. ........and now, only these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
  11. Lovely pictures, Neil. No such modifications were made to my `Guzzi {it was a 1978 'Spada' 1000, by the way}.......All that I may recall of my dealings with Italian electricery, was along the lines of trying to keep it dry; as the merest hint of rain would make the otherwise beautiful machine go into a sulk.
  12. Crikey!......For that kind of money, I`d expect them to swing by your place in the morning, make breakfast, then help you both, pack for the airport!
  13. I tried {upon a recommendation} using beer as a slug trap attractant; but feared ending up with inebriated molluscs wandering the area with traffic cones on their heads, urinating in telephone boxes and picking fights with local snails; who clearly haven`t yet drunk themselves into homelessness!
  14. Massive, marauding molluscs. ......but as "they have been found eating dead mice, dog mess and even each other", it may not all be bad news.
  15. Not much fun being a gastropod mollusc; dipsomaniacal and cuprophobic!
  16. That may have to be balanced against the possibility of listeriae being fostered by the elevated temperature of the stored water and concomitant aerosol contamination from the rising {warm} vapour released during flushes.
  17. Hot flushes?!?!......."Tell me about it!"
  18. "For goodness` sake, take the picture, Aditi; holding this smile`s giving me cramp and the fizz is going out of my champers!"
  19. Hello Ben! What a lovely boy.
  20. Please, might you be able to share a picture of Ben with us all?
  21. I`ve just received the most wonderful phone call from my dear Passepartout (John); he said he can come home today! For those that might not know; John`s been the {incredibly} fortunate recipient of a bone-marrow and stem-cell transplant; generously gifted from a donor in Germany........it`s still early days in terms of his recovery; but coming out of isolation and being at home with me, is a huge positive step for us, in this haematologically complicated process. I`m {we`re!} so appreciative of all the support which I`ve received from our many E.R friends; `bless you.
