Passepartout and I, managed to make it along to Wigan.......We found it interesting with a good range of exhibitors and layouts; although, aside from the lengthy queue in the refreshment hall, I thought it seemed rather 'quiet' (that choice of word, also representing something of an in-joke, for those in the know about my current situation!). The exhibit that most engaged me, was something of a surprise: No. 76 - "Nitinat Lumber", modeled in 1:48 (0n30) and set in Canada. I really liked the well executed scenic interest, attention to detail and the Shay locomotives. I have only one negative to report: The curse of the giant backpack, has evidently been joined by a new menace: the addition of the full-size umbrella strapped {vertically} to the rear of the giant backpack!........Especially hazardous, when one is 5' 14" tall! {or rather 5' 16.5" in yesterday`s choice of footwear}.......My face having been seriously whacked by several, suddenly-reversing umbrella handles.

The chauffeur is presently raising steam; and the horseless carriage should be ready in time for our jaunt over to Wigan, later this morning. Wishing for you all, a lovely day.

"I go........I come back!" I`m frequently having to spend time in Luxembourg lately, and it is, a truly 'Grand' Duchy: cheap, clean, efficient, and integrated rail, bus and soon to include tram networks {public service - e.g: tickets cost 4 Euro for 24 hour`s use; by any means, anywhere!}, it`s peopled by considerate, courteous and friendly polyglots, they benefit from some of the most advanced specialist healthcare practitioners in Europe and more importantly; `look what I found in the local park...... 5" gauge with an extensive trackplan. ......`next visit will have to coincide with a steam, running-day.

Cheshire Oaks is just a couple of miles from Collie Towers......`an interesting place to people-watch, dine and enjoy a stroll, even if retail therapy isn`t one`s thing.

Evnin`awl! Our trip to Expo EM yesterday, had to be aborted en-route with a sudden health issue.....There was disappointment all `round. :-( So, it's a case of: "as you were" ......there's always next year.

Today, a quick but enjoyable visit to Expo. E.M (North) is on the cards, and I get a kindly chauffeur and chaperone to make the visit nice and easy. ...... Just hope the presence of all those model trains doesn't ruin it! ;-)
