  1. I`m from the Muffin the Mule generation....... ......of course back then, it was still legal!
  2. How very futuristic .................I`m now visualising Woody Allen being chased along it by the dystopian police.
  3. Yes, but of that 130; many were effectively-duplicated channels (except for regional opt-outs for news, weather and language politics) as the Welsh-Wales transmitter footprint also extends into this Peninsular; the Welsh transmitter (Moel y Parc) is about 15 miles away, but my rooftop aerial is directed at the English one (Winter Hill), which is 40 miles distant in almost the opposite direction. I expect transmitter overlap will be the most likely cause of today`s loss of Freeview channels. At least I can protest at having nothing to watch and in two languages!
  4. A Freeview retune here has resulted in no channels at all, on my 3 year old L.G integrated-F.V Tv...........previously there were 130+ channels. I fear somebody`s not sufficiently tested things in Freeview`s techie-sandbox.
  5. Local precision engineering business have got an A-board outside: "Head Turner Wanted - Apply Within" ............Phwarrrrrr! ......I`m not qualified (evidently!)
  6. Remarkable to see the excellent work of Richard Whitcomb, now honoured by nearly every commercial airframe architect.........I remember when I completed my Rutan LongEz (back in `83); the Whitcomb-winglets were the feature which recvd. most comment.
  7. Been having an attack of the 'creatives' with the laser-cutter: Collet box (wooden part re-used from another item): laser-cut in 5mm. clear-perspex for the 6 collet chuck`s stand and yellow perspex for the collet set rack.....when finished there`ll be an upper set of laser-cut clear perspex forms (glued into the box lid) to retain the chucks in carriage. 'Angel light' machine light made using a proprietary 160mm dia. ring of LED`s : (costing just £3. each: people fit them to cars for decoration).......laminated using three concentric rings of laser-cut 4mm. perspex (two in coloured and one clear; as the lens) to mount the LED`s within.......add a 12v. plug-in transformer and "let there be light" (just where it`s needed).
  8. What a delightful and joyous picture; `I find it so very uplifting to see such patent love and contentment.
  9. Will do, Don..........here`s wishing you comfort and peaceful rest in recovery.
  10. That`s a very handsome beast, indeed!.............looks so powerful.
  11. .....and don`t call me Shirley! It`d be nice if they could simply replace the {many} sordid phone-sex/chat channels on the Freeview platform and replace them with programming for broad/normal interests.
  12. Present, Sir! Been feeling rather out of sorts for some recent days; so I`ve been just a spectatrix. ....but with you all in spirit.
  13. Happy Birthday best-wishes to you, Don..........may you soon be restored to better health.
  14. Thank you very much for the update, Tim......Best wishes and support to Don, for his recovery and speedy return to wellness.
  15. I`m holding our-Jock and his family in my thoughts and prayers.......best wishes, Sir. Productive couple of days making swarf here at Collie Towers: the standard-table on the CNC mill seemed a little narrow for my use, so have machined a supplemental table out of a humongous chunk of 40mm. billet-Ali......lots of `oles, slotting and 'fredding' later and I feel quite proud; it`ll do the job nicely. .....every kitchen should have one!
  16. "The small family motorcycle"
  17. I`ll sing along too, it`s my favourite movie.
  18. When the ring {she} is chosen; we will need pictures!
  19. Funnily enough, when I were a but a tiddler, I thought I heard folks pronounce it as a "Jewelled Carriageway" ..........and just to confirm the concept in my mind: the road`s be`jewelled centre-line even glistered in the dark!
  20. "Timber of the quality that Sir clearly requires, just doesn`t grow on trees, y`know!"
  21. Wishing you all the very best for your comfort and rapid-recovery to wellness, Don. Deb and Co(llies)
  22. Antibiotics and NSAI treatment seem to have taken good-effect on my poorly-Collie; he seems much brighter today and his distressing symptoms of an infected kidney appear to be diminishing. Hope your day begins with 'a positive' too!
