  1. Watching the covering of HM Queen's funeral, I noted one comment that the coffin of King George VI was conveyed from London to Windsor by train.

Just as well that was not planned for yesterday, then - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-62952485

I feel very sorry for those who's journeys were disrupted or even thwarted.

Of course, only the coffins of British monarchs since Victoria have actually travelled to their last resting place by train. Most travelled by "road" before there were any railways.

  2. I am not sure where I should ask you this question so I have posted on the relevant thread and am also attempting to contact you here. Please forgive me if either of these or both are inappropriate.

I am attempting to collate a number of images of the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway which have been shared with me by a variety of people and while reviewing them, I searched RMweb for any supporting information and came across a thread about the Smithfield Dual-gauge siding adjacent to the old cattle market in Welshpool. I was wondering whether you might be happy for me to include the monochrome photograph which you posted to the thread in a blog which follows up my first article about the Town Section of the W&LLR?

    Kind regards

    Roger
