  1. Hi Luke,

One way of dealing with the magnet between the rails as you have positioned them is to take a photo of a short length of ballasted track, print it out full size on a piece of good quality paper or thin card, cut out a length of the ballasted sleepers from your printed photo and then stick it down on top of the magnet. It won't look quite as good as fully ballasted track but it will look better than just the magnet.

    I hope that helps,

So, I have a solution, it's slightly drastic but after testing it, it works perfectly so here it it. I will use the kadee uncoupling magnets I bought but put them between the rails by removing a narrow strip of sleepers and gravel. Asethetically they won't look so good but from an operatinal view they will be fantastic. I will only glue them down with a tiny dot of glue so they'll be easily removable. Here's a picture of it on my test piece of track.attachicon.gifIMG_20181127_180822333.jpg At least with this method I won't derail my wagons!

  2. I had a similar problem with sawing 12 mm gauge track, an alternative method I have used is to file through the the track using a triangular needle file. You could also mark the length required, remove from the sleeper base and then saw to length.

The easiest method is to use a cutting disc in a mini drill.

  3. Hi Stu,

You don't need a complete drum just an arc from the rim, as to closing the door I have seen sliding heavy fire doors which use a weight on a piece of rope to pull the door shut, the channel the door moved along had a slight slope towards the "closed" end. I hope this makes sense.

  4. Now solved, BRM responded to my "unsubscibe" email.

I too am fed up of the emails from BRM I have tried sending a reply to them with unsubscribe in the subject but it hasn't worked. I have checked the box in my account on this forum.

When I view the whole email there is an unsubscribe link in brackets, (https://outandaboutlive.us8.list-manage.c=

When I paste this address in my browser it doesn't go to the correct webpage.

    Please help.

    Thank you Martin
